I'm looking to buy a set for my lq4 408 iron block built for boost and a guy has a set for sale for dose anyone know enough about them to let me know if these sound ok ??? Here's his ad thanks
New-refurbished - 0 miles (since machine work) - Assembled - 1 pair
These are the 317 heads with excellent flow that is comparable to the 243 & 799 heads.
Competition Valve Job = 5 angle intake seat, Radius exhaust seat, bowl and chamber blend.
Full port and chamber polish. A smooth port increases cfm and eliminates dead air/stall space from casting flaws which is bad for atomization.
Milled .010 for (approx) 70.5cc combustion chambers.
No CNC work.
New Stainless 2.02 Intake and 1.57 Exhaust valves with new seals.
New PAC 1518 springs - .630 max lift with installed height of 1.78

There is probably at least 700 dollars in machine work in the heads. 700 does not sound bad at all for heads with springs. You will pay 100 for normal take offs and 350 for springs alone.

I haven't done the math, but I'm skeptical that shaving only .010" is going to drop combustion chamber volume by 4.5cc's.
EDIT: My mistake... Combustion chamber volume on stock 317's is 71.06cc, NOT 75cc's like I thought...
