Reaction time has nothing to do with ET. Your time does not begin until the car moves forward to trip the beam. The guy that gave me the timeslip at the track said the same thing.

I know it depends on the racing, i actually lost a bet my first at the track about that. lol just thought i would bust some ***** because it reminded me of that. Wish we still had good weather to run

He didn't say ETs don't matter. He said reaction time doesn't have anything to do with ET, and it doesn't. He could have sat at the green light for 30 seconds and still cut the same ET.

That is totally not true. Like others have said reaction time has NOTHING to do with ET. Yes reaction time matters in bracket racing to give you the best chance to cross the finish line first but has nothing to do with the ET you run. Your ET time doesn't start until the car moves.

This^^^^ Except it is not when the car moves, it is when the car trips the beam. This is why you can gain a little by staging shallow and rolling toward the beam ever so slightly before the light turns green. You have to be pretty damn good to get this technique down though.
Also, lt is not just bracket racing. ANY form of racing is helped by a lower reaction time.
I tried to explain to my buddy at work that your RT does not effect your ET. He said, "If two cars run the same time, they just take the guy with the better RT and make him the winner."
I said,"No... The guy with the better RT crossed the line first, genius."
Some people just don't get it no matter how hard you try to explain it.
He just told me I was stupid.
Oh yeah... fast vette... I guess. Looks like he got traction just fine to me. Also, 60' traction does not effect your trap speed all that much. Unless you are spinning most of the track, your trap speed may only vary by up to 5mph or so. This is why your trap speed is a better indicator of the amount of power you are making vs. your ET.
