Default S/C, P/C, or M/C?

Ok so here in 6 months or so I would like to have 6k saved up for a FI kit. My goals are to pick up 100+ hp with the kit and be able to run low 11's trapping 120+. I now have full bolt-ons.

My questions are what is the best kit out there for a decent price?

http://www.c5racer.com/catalog/98-02...in-finish.html

http://www.lethalperformance.com/98-...tcooler-p-1037

http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/ma...rgerkit-1.aspx

Between those kits what is the best? I like the magnacharger kit (bottoma link) because of the great sound and look of it. Also how much more stuff will I need besides whats listed in these kits? Any information you can give me would be appreciated!

I dont think youll get any of those for $6,000 thats your first problem, unless you find a used P-1. I personally really like the Maggie. It doesnt require a whole lot of mods, just drop the k-member with spacers and you only have to cut a little out of the cowl. The sound and look are hard to beat and all that torque down low is exactly what I want. Im iffy about it though because not a lot of guys ever ran it. At one point three different shops had a M112 kit for 4th Gens. Now its only Hawks and MTI racing. Im interested in others opinions though..

What do you mean you don't think I can get any of those for $6,000? The maggie at the bottom is $5999 and I already have the NW throttle body to go with it. I think the same as you though. I really like the looks and sound of the kit. And I would really like to get it if the price listed is all I will have to pay for it and not a bunch extra. Like does the fuel pump come with it? Injectors? and all that.

I saw your last thread before it got deleted. Im interested but am very curious as well. I know the MP112 can be had cheap but what about all the supporting mods? K member spacers? How would one know what part of the cowl to cut? Not alot of guys ran Maggies on their 4th Gens and like I said before, its hard to find a lot of answers. The 2 former sponsors on here that sold kits were both banned. The few that ran Maggies I dont think are even active on the board anymore. I do know that the few dyno results and the few videos I saw have me lusting for a Maggie over a Procharger or H/C/I..

yea either way I'm with you. I would love to go maggie instead of procharger or H/C. I drool everytime a hear a magnacharger whining. That alone almost makes me wanna go for it. I will probably end up calling hawks to find more about it. And if that is the complete kit with no more suporting mods needed I will likely save up a few months for it and buy it.

I offer complete ProCharger D-1SC systems at the above link. The only other items you will need are spark plugs and a tune. Bob

Procharger ftw. I'd rather make almost 200more horse rather than 100 for 6k. But I'm biased. I also like my car sounding more like a jet than a car with a dying power steering pump lol.

+1 for Bob @ Brutespeed

Btw isn't that Maggie a bit small? You can max them out on a stock short block can't you??

Yes, that Maggie is waay to small. I wouldn't use anything smaller than a 1900, the 2300 would be better. Bob

See Id be more comfortable with around 500hp and instant torque for a street car. 650 hp that comes in at 5,000+ RPM would do me no good for a street application. I also always thought the Maggie's sounded more like a jet than anything else. To each their own..

I'm with you on this one. I'm sure the procharger kit from brute speed is also great and it would make great power and sound, but I love the sound of the maggie and I would be happy with 120+ horsepower for $6k.

All that instant torque turns into instant tire smoke. I love my Procharger and it is instant tire smoke too!

Too much instant torque equals losing and actually being slower than NA. With a procharger and turbos, the boost comes in gradually. Granted, a turbo hits max boost sooner than a centri blower, but instant boost isn't faster than a centri blower unless you are running a drag suspension with some drag tires on the street.

Maximum acceleration is acheived by staying at the traction threshold throughout the rpm range. As your speed increases, so do the traction threshold, hence why high horsepower street racers want to go from a roll, and higher speeds.
