Great looking setup you have there. I've had my vette Procharged with a D1SC on it for about two weeks and absolutely love it. Going forged is a very smart idea. I plan on building mine before the new year but for now these 7lbs are fun as hell.

I don't know for sure I have the asters bracket which doesn't slip period. Unless you are getting the stock bracket for free I wouldn't even consider getting it. The stock procharger bracket is why a lot of people sold their kits and went turbo.

I have a kit I bought used and it has the stocker. I've looked into the Aster but the wait time is 3 weeks and my car goes uner the knife three weeks from yesterday the 24th. Also I know Bob recomends the race valve for anything over 14lbs of boost but is the black one in the kit any good?

I have the race valve on my car because I knew I was building a max effort d1 setup. My yukon has the black one and sees 13lbs of boost and it seems to Work just fine

What size pulley were you running to make 13lbs? I was told by Bob to reach my goal of 650-700Hp to the tires to run a 3.55 pulley, but unsure on boost level. I'm having a 390 built by AES. Are you running meth on both vehicals? I haven't picked up a kit as the bills r piling up. Also, how bad will it hurt not running 1 7/8 headers? Thanks for all the help.

I run 4.25 pulley on Camaro with meth makes 11lbs 668rwhp ls1 qtp headers 1 3/4 primary's I think if you have good headers that have 1 3-4 id just keep them and save your money since your power goals are very attainable. Yukons is forged 5.3 with p1sc has 3.4 pulley on it no meth .

Well headers are pacesetters they are in great condition tho. I think I will wait for larger headers and meth kit. I'm deploying Feb of next year so I'll be able to save for a few upgrades.

I would do meth sooner than later.

I talked to my builder and my installer and both think meth cause more problems if they system fails and says that without it I will easly reach my rwhp and still be safe on pump gas.

Then they obviously have little experience with water/methanol injection. Of course there are failsafes.

I ran without water/meoh on a stock bottom end and it grenaded a piston on me and took out the block with it. For a stock piston, heat is your enemy. I never saw knock, the tune was safe, afr's were in the high 10s, low 11s, timing was 13 degrees and I took out the piston. The stock piston ring setup doesn't like the amount of heat that a boosted setup throws at it, and I'm not talking about the intake temperatures either. It's the amount of heat in the combustion chamber that causes the rings to expand and butt together. I never saw intake temperatures over 110 degrees, and that was on a 90 degree day. When my motor went, it was the dead of winter and IAT's were in the 30-34 degree range even in boost.

Just be warned, I wish I would have listened and went with water/meoh injection up front.

"We do not recommend running meth at anytime, we have seen meth kit failures take out
motors so we prefer to stay away from them and run higher octane fuel." This is from my email from my installer.

I will be running an Iron Block from AES with Diamond pistons.

Totally agree! I will add that even though a forged piston can handle alot more heat why wouldn't you want to keep things as cool and safe as you can anyways. All I'm saying to anyone that reads this is on forced induction on 93 octane fuel why would you NOT run water/meth induction! So many good things come from it. You don't have to tune the car where it depends on meth to stay alive.

I can't afford it right now and will continue to read up on it and learn about it.
