because when you buy the kit new, it is only a few bucks extra over the twin 4.5's. also i bought it because I did not want to use an intake plenum or merge. but i will admit, when you buy it outside of a complete kit from a dealer.....its is stupidly expensive and I would never pay for it in that sense. why spend 200 dollars less for something that is worse in every way you know.
