Default Street Twin combos please post here

I searched for 4 hours last night just on Precision 6262's and while there was a lot of great reading what was common among nearly all of the threads was there were very few conclusions, results, comparisions, etc...

Would you guys please post some basic info on your combination and results something like this:

1962 Nova, LQ4 stock bottomend, LS9 heads/gaskets, ARP studs, Comp cam 220int/218exh @ .050, 581/562 lift, 116 separation + 4, GMPP intake, Sheetmetal elbow, Stock truck PCM, HPtuners, 80lb injectors, 90mm TB, 4L80 w/ Jake's brake, 258mm Cirlcle D converter, 3.50 gear, 275/60 DR.

Turbo kit (ficticious): Custom kit, twin Precision 6262's, ported S covers, .82 V-band exhausts, full dual 2.5" magnaflow exhaust, A2A IC, Twin PW46 WG, single JS 60mm BOV.

Notes: 782 RWHP@5850rpm, 9.68@152, 1.36 60' off T-Brake, XXX IAT after 1/4mile pass, 24 MPG on Power Tour. Spools instantly 2lb. boost at 2800 rpm from a roll, 12lbs by 4000. Had X turbos on before spools 500rpm quicker and makes 125 more HP on same dyno to same correction and dropped 24 degrees IAT.

None of my turbo or performance is real as the car is just going together. But it would be an excellent data base especially as a Sticky. Maybe 1 Thread for twins and 1 thread for singles.

Maybe 1 pic of engine bay and 1 overall of car. No comments or questions posted. If someone has questions they can send PM to car owner and if the owner thinks it's valuable info they can edit thier post.

There are not a lot of 6262 results on LS cars, other than vettes, because they were not incorporated into kits until recently.

They dont fit APS kits with out modification, so they are not popular there.

Most go single, so you never see twin turbo results.

Just for your info, and others searching for future reference-

Jim @ Speed inc made a handful of twin kits using a GT35/R turbo. You can see if you can find those results. The PTE 6262 up to 6766 will fit in that same foot print.

LMR did a black camaro with an APS Kit that made 1050 and a set of 6262s. Thats olbetz. Not sure where that setup is now, but the owner of that car is a great guy, not very active online however.

Tim Lynch and Vengeance just did his 427 LS7 setup that made 12-1300 rwhp on his APS kit with 6262s as well.

LS1 nova in Minnesota just did an ERL 427/TFS 235 setup with twin 6765s and his custom kit, you can find him and bleed his brain about it. It has a very street friendly cam I spec'ed to help get it moving because its a GTO. Keep in mind, its on E85, so spool will be later on pump fuel /any E10 based fuel.

Other than that, there are not a lot of guys going that route.

Louis

I currently have a set of the 6265's for my set up but I have a few things to take care of before it will be up and running.

This is the one Louis mentioned that I did for a customer

06 GTO, ERL Superdeck 427, TFS 235 6 bolt, LG custom cam 228/232 something, Fast 102, NW 102 TB, HPtuners on stock ecm, FIC 2000cc injectors, E85, Jakes stage 4 4L80E with TB, Yank PY3400, 3.25 gears in 9" IRS, 335/30/18 Toyo RA1.

One Guys Garage turbo kit, PT6765's with .82 v band turbine's, Tial 38 MVS's, Tial 50mm BOV, C6 manifolds, 2.5 hot side, 3" downpipes, full 3" duals with Kooks mufflers, Treadstone vertical flow a/a intercooler with 3" outlet to TB.

Cant remember exact numbers but around 640rw at 10psi with a super safe tune on a Mustang dyno. Never dyno'd higher boost yet due to trans issue and Strange f'd up the pinion preload. Will attempt 1000rw on that Mustang dyno in the spring.
Upped the boost to 14psi on the street and its an absolute animal to drive. Spools to fast to really care about looking at the tach. Doesnt really get traction until freeway speeds. I think these turbos would be fine with smaller cubes as well.

Update, did 997rw on 21psi on a Dynojet.

I am wanting to do a twin turbo drawthrough carb setup on my 5.3 that is going in my boat later this summer . I am not all that educated on turbo setups , so I am just getting into the research part of the conversion . I really like the idea of the drawthrough , probably with a pair of 600 holley carbs . I have seen here and on the other turbo forum that a 60-62mm turbo is going to be about the right size for this setup , does that sound about right ? Any suggestions on the best inexpensive turbos to buy for this ?

I had a 402 ci LS1 based motor with twin Garrett GT42R 76mm turbos on a street setup with my 98 Z28 Camaro with a/c and all, and it spooled up super quick and made 1000HP at 13 psi. The trick was twin scroll or divided housing setup. In my opinion, twin scroll is the only way to go on a street setup. I kept the same setup when I conerted it to a drag car and changed the block to an ERL 427 LS2 and it made 1000HP with only 8 psi. It has never had a problem spooling up super quickly and my turbos have a 1.01 a/r on the exhaust housing. I have pics of the car here, just search 98 camaro 427 erl twin turbo. TWIN SCROLL!!

journal.

I have only dynoed the truck on low boost (6-7) psi but it made 600hp 600tq through a 4l80 on 18 degrees. Since this combo in a tbss (5000lbs) it spools quick.

I'm running e85 with twin 6165 Turbonetics ball bearing turbos on a 378 cid LS. Made 945 rwhp at 14 psi on a Dyno dynamics. I did a build thread with dyno video here.
