Congrats Dan! Sorry I couldn't make it last night. Time to work on that sumped tank and get a BIG fuel pump.

That's what I had to do. I got mine from behind bars race cars and went with a magnafuel 4303 pump.

wow...what did you change to jump from 106-107 to 116 1/8 mph? was that just the jump in boost and you actually shifting when you were supposed to?

Yeah more boost and actually shifting around 6200 rpm and not at 5500. Or even shifting from 1st to 3rd

If I'm not mistaken you did some street pulls to work on the tune and then took it to the track to dial in the tune?

At the track are you mostly looking for any KR and double checking your afr's?

I did my driveablity tuning on the street and some WOT stuff. But on 12 psi it just blows the tires off in 3rd on the highway. So I only really was able to pull to 5200-5500 rpm on the street

Yes E85 on twin walboros and 127# FIC highZ injectors. I have a sumped tank sitting in the basement. I just need to get the pump and lines and modify the tank some then it is ready to go in.

It just sucks I need tires and all the fuel pump stuff. So it will be a while until I head back to the track as I just can't afford to spend that much on the car right now

Thanks I wish I could have ran that last pass out the back door to see what it would have run but I didn't want to risk hurting it.

Yeah I am sure I am just some suspension work and a fresh set of tires away

I'm in the same situation with the street tuning 390 W/billet 83/92 borg warner, I've been tuning but have to roll into the throttle in 3rd to about 80%. At the strip what rpm did you take the car upto?

Right now I was shifting around 6200 rpm. Once I get things straightened out probably 6600-6800

Just showed the video to some guys in at work and I just noticed it looks like I got on the brake before the traps as well. 9.97@129 on the brakes isn't bad at all

Im surprised the pumps are still holding up with that power haha they must be maxed out. Ya man i have found the same thing it just seriously never ends with this stuff. Then you will get that and need a different suspension set up or this or that. And there goes another 4000 bucks.

Really the only thing I could change in the suspension is go from my QA1s to AFCOs. Everything else is alraedy there. Last year the car never hit this hard off the line That and these tires are a year old and smooth in the middle.

I bet you put tires on it and it will go. I understand on the money though, I am getting there right now with the little crap. Heat wrap, bends, lines, fittings, etc. It never ends. I bet when you get some tires you will be more than pleased with the results.

Ya some newer tires will help i'm sure. but it gets old after spending so much money. Not that a 9 second pass is bad i'd be very happy with that

No shame in turning the boost up to say 20.

yes but right now I only have a 2 bar map and no good boost controller. So my 7psi base on the waste gate spring I can only double with a little manually controller
