If it hooks and then unloads it sounds like you may have too much travel in the front end(which 5" is a lot) and it's topping out the shock and the abrupt stop of the shock topping out is causing it to unload.

No limiters. I think could probably hit the tire harder and it would obviously help if I was on a prepped surface, but this is what it does every time whether I warm up the tires or not.

I think to loosen the extension on the rear might help, but haven't taken the time to do it yet. There were some improvements made though because the car went from bouncing the tires to laying a solid stripe by making some adjustments on the compression.

In that video the front compression is pretty tight. I think 15 (might be 14) and extension was 3. I started with the extension a bit tighter. I didn't really notice a difference making that change though.

Any type of guarantee/warranty with that? Shortblock, or longblock? Would be nice to know if it's a 2005+ LQ4 also.

It's not really hitting the tire.

Extension looks really tight in the rear. Where are your lower control arms positioned?

Its not really weight transferring loosen it up and smack the back tire a little bet that helps a lot. Hopefully hitting the track tomorrow i'll get you some good numbers

Eh its not that great you will find better if you wait but try for an 04+ to get the better rods if you go with that gen your still fine but up to about 1000crank and on ragged edge.

Lower control arms are in the bottom hole. Sitting on level ground they are at about 1.8° up. Compression was at 10 clicks from loose and extension was at 6 clicks from loose. I was leaving at 2700 with 1 lb of boost... I turned up the two step to 2900 and tried again tonight. Seemed to help, but still not hitting it hard enough I don't think. I also turned the extension back to 4 clicks.

I'll have to turn up the 2 step a little more and hit the tire harder. It seems lazy if I don't leave with at least 3 psi. Will be interesting to see where you end up with settings. Obviously each car is different, but I'll be curious to hear what you learn.

Thanks Doug. I'm all in on your setup. Im moving from old school SBC 383 to turbo. This will be my 1st Turbo ride, i purchased the 01 6.0 today. I have a 1/8 track in my area and my hopes are to get to 5.90's -6.0's on stock suspension BTW I have a '85 S10. I can see that there is a lot of knowledge on this thread alone, i'm starving for some direction with this turbo build. I notice initially the bottom end was fine when you started your build until u started putting up 10.5 outlaw #'s. lol Will the upgrades to the 6.0 like LS6 intake, upgraded springs, double timimg chain, oil pump,LS9 gaskets,tu2 cam and fuel rails be enough to prepare engine for turbos? As u can tell I'm following your blueprint. Thanks!

Well glad to help out with the build there are a lot of things that were new to me with this car and obviously a huge learning curve but its been a fun ride. As for the upgrades i would do exactly what you just mentioned and maybe just instead of the tu2 go with a custom cam specd by Martin. But other than that its a great start what you have listed.
Good luck man and any help just send me a message!!

So took the car to street night. Working on the suspension still changing stuff around. Couldnt get the meth working right so this was just straight pump gas but ran a 9.4@145 17psi 8psi launch low timing. Not a bad start to work with

How much boost are you planning on when you get all the bugs worked out?

Ya man it was kind of funny I was only running that full pass because the track guy really wanted to see what it would do. I wasn't happy with it but again 7psi launch straight pump low timing and 17psi guess I can't complain

Well I figured out what was wrong. Had a cheap **** eBay map and the resolution sucked on it I should of known better. I got another dsteck map changed the parameters and the tune was almost flawless at wot and the meth is working great at low boost. But I will run 22-23psi for a bit and once it gets to the end of the year I'll crank it to 28 or whatever it Maxs out at

Took the car out for an event yesterday got a first round bye because of the .001 reaction time was doing well but decided to leave early because of a fueling issue. Car ran a 9.3 1.35 60' 17 psi. Think I have either a fuel leak in bucket voltage issue or maybe a pump/pumps are tired because I could not get my afrs in check once the boost went up. So I'll staet chasing again and come back to the track in a week or so. But it's definitely showing signs of hitting 8s with 20psi max.
