Help choosing compression ratio???

i understand what you're saying. i'd like to see more than 12 lbs myself on pump gas VERY much! i guess i'm just a bit conservative on how far i'm willing to trust pump gas. i'm more of the cautious type as i can't afford a new motor once i get this thing going and from what i've seen, Jim aka INTMD8 prefers not to push pump gas to it's limits. i suggested going with race fuel at the track but if you don't go there or do your racing on the street, then i understand. either way you should make some very good power and i wish you luck with it!

i'd also like to stay away from meth but it will come down to how much power i can make on pump safely. i'd just prefer not to rely on it if at all possible.

That pump gas 10.9:1 with 13lbs was a conservative tune and did not rely on meth injection. The meth was only added to bring the ait's down. If the pump went out or I ran it out of meth, the car would still be ok.

That will be fine. One thing I like about mine is how the car drives on the street out of boost. There is only so much power your going to put down on the street anyways 427 and 22 psi on the street and I'll race you in my wifes stock GTO. You'll still be spinning when I shut down lol.

I agree with the out of boost performance. That is one of the reasons I started this thread, to find out how high of a compression I could actually run. I don't want a car that only responds well when in boost. As far as traction goes, I know at that power level that pretty much nothing will dead hook but I am hoping to control it some with my 345 drag radials.

that's awesome figures there! i hadn't heard of anyone running that high on both sides of the coin. i really hope to be able to run at least 10 lbs but 12+ would be killer on 93 and no meth!
