Thumbs up Switched from T-56 to TH400

Buschman was right. For the second week in a row, every car I've tried to race for money either backed down, cancelled, didn't show up, or wanted a ridiculous head start (which I aint' givin' ). So I might as well post up. Stealth mode is not helping any. I will put my site back up too, with changes.

Here are my times:

With T-56 6-speed (Last November):
11.37 @ 124.8 (1.61)

With the new TH-400 (Last week):
10.78 @ 127.5 (1.63)
I picked up 6 tenths and 3MPH!!

The only other change was the 12-bolt rear gears --- I went from 4.10's down to 3.42's, so I don't tach out on the highway.

Some facts about the run:
I have not retuned since the T-56 was in the car.
The car is stock cubic inches with heads & cam and headers.
I did not use the trans-brake (yet).
There was a 30MPH+ head wind (they almost closed the track).
I use pump gas 93 octane, no octane booster, or race-fuel mix.
I am running 10PSI @ 6500RPMs.
I run 26x11.5x15 DOT legal Hoosier QTP's
I run full exhaust (no cutouts or dumps).
No weight has been removed except the rear seats and spare tire.
The TH-400 with 3.42 gears and 26" tall tire shows 66MPH at 3000RPMs on the tachometer.
Our local track here in MD (Capitol Raceway) is 300FT above sea level.

When I use the transbrake next weekend and cut a 1.50 60-foot, I expect to turn the 10.7 into a 10.5

I will put my site back up shortly with pictures.

And one more thing: Lets hear it for the so-called "little" Vortech V9 G-trim!!!

Don't most ricers race on the highway from a roll anyways? not really the th400s specialty. I ran with low 11 th400 cars from a roll when I was mostly stock. Not knocking that tranny at the track, but if you have a track only car you might as well post up. Unless you're looking to nail some trailor queens, that's all that will race you now. But send me your times Randy. (buschman_007@hotmail.com) I'm very curious to see what the simple tranny swap did to your E/T and trap. Did you do any mods between the tranny swap that might sway the numbers at all? Just trying to get an objective look at what a th400 swap might do for me.

The car with the higher 1/4 mph wins from a roll.
And trust me, my mph went up also.

As far as racing only dragsters, last night I was set up to race some punk-*** kid with an 03 Cobra with drag radials and a few boltons. I already heard from somone else what it runs. It started drizzling, so I called it off. But believe me when I say I would have fukced him up.

Like I said, there are alot of dumbass kids with money out there.

Sweet, if you don`t mind me asking how hard was the swap and how much fabrication is involved? Thanks.

Sorry, I didn't perform the install myself. Just about all my work was done over at F-Body Central in Baltimore, MD.
I have no idea how hard or how easy it was.
All I know is, ... it WORKS.

Faster AND quicker.
Since you don't have to take your foot off the gas, my boost stays at 10PSI through the whole 1/4 mile.
Gotta love the auto.

Yes, I hope to retune this week to get ready for the Eastern F-Body showdown at Budds Creek.
My site is back up, so you can see the dyno graphs.
But here were my old numbers before the TH400 swap:

536RWHP / 473RWTQ (10.1:1 CR @ 6600RPMs)
522RWHP / 480RWTQ (9.1:1 CR @ 6500RPMs)
