Well last week I installed the new cam and APE 6.0 o-ringed heads along with yellow terra rockers and comp r lifters and at the same time installed the new #60 injectors. I also had the ATI race by-pass valve welded into the air plenum. So yesterday I took the car to Mike Browns house to get the rest of the stuff done on his lift. I want to thank Mike for all his hard work on my car. I also had help from Reckless and Steve Turley who I would like to thank also. While there we installed new Midwest Convertor and TCI flexplate, gearvenders overdrive unit, spohn drag sway bar, stock shifter set up for reverse valvebody tranny, and the cog-set up for the blower along with the steel bracket. Most of the time me and Reckless just try and stay out of Mike's way, he's the man. Everything went ok but had a little trouble with the sway bar not wanting to fit between the rear shock mounts. But Mike came up with a way to make it fit and it works and looks great. Installed the supercharger and had the same problem the others had with the belt not fitting correct due to it being to short. So we took the steel bracket back off and elongated the slot for the tensioner. Reinstalled it all and now the belt goes on by hand with the tensioner on top of the belt. Didn't get to drive the car due to needing the driveshaft shortened because of the gearvenders od unit. But should get to take it for a spin tomorrow afternoon and then off to APE on Wed. for tuning. So it looks like we will soon see if all the hard work and $$$$$$$$$$ has been worth it.

The box said the shipping weight was #58. But I'll tell ya I think they are paying the brown truck people a little extra under the table because it feels like it weighs more than #58.

Good to hear you got the COGS on and the rest of your stuff together, can you do me a favor and find out EXACTLY how much you elongnated that hole for the tensioner, this is what I need to do to correct mine.....

Thanks.....

I would say about one inch but 1.25 inchs would be better. I can slid my belt on the crank pulley by hand. If your going to get a new bracket made. I would have them make the top of the bracket more of a dome than flat as it is now which will give the bracket more meat above the tensioner slot. Just add about a inch to the top of the bracket between the bolt holes and it would be perfect. But heck the steel one opened up is fine, don't see any problem with the bracket now.

Yea, I'll most likely take my blower off the car this week sometime and see if I can get that bracket cleared out 1.25"........you are running the same tooth count as me and Jeremy correct?

This could be the answer, now I just need to get those pins in the mail, take the crank bolt out w/the COG crank pulley, put the new pins in, and locate a 250ftlb TQ wrench and a flywheel holder......

Looks like I will be doing some more grinding. So if I read it right you ground to the middle of the standoff holes. Right now I am about even with the bottom of the holes. But I am on the aluminum bracket and didn't feel comfortable opening it up any further. Keep us posted on how the tuning session goes. Let us know if they have any issues with the knock sensors picking up a lot of noise from these cogs. I was getting some serious kr on take offs or stopping. I am not getting any now that the cog belt is off.
Thanks

Sounds good, Tom! When do you expect to have it to the track? I'd love to see it run w/ the upgrades!

maybe thats why i coulndt get ahold of anybody, i tried to call some of you guys last week and ask advice on getting my engine out, but no answers from anybody. got it out though with some elbo grease, all by myself.

Are you going to set up your car tune for race gas or pump?
hopefully youll have a good year at the track, cant wait to see it around.

Well guess I'm going to hold off for another week before I get it tuned. Still need to work out a few bugs with the car and order a couple extra belts just in case. But I drove it home last night and man I love the gearvenders o.d unit. We didn't put all the computer stuff it comes with on due to me only wanting to use this system in manual mode which means I didn't need the other stuff. All it takes to engage it is a push on the switch(old type dimmer switch) and to disengage another push on the switch. Man the car sounds like a jet going down the road with the race-by-pass valve. Now for some light street testing.
