down pipe size question
down pipe size question I am running a 5.3L +.030 forged pistons, H beam rods, LS9 cam, 317 heads. 8.2:1 comp. I am running a Turbonetics T76 Q trim, BB center, .96A/R. 1 3/4" primary headers into 2.5" hot side merged into 3" before the turbo. 12x24 plate and bar intercooler w/ 3" cold side piping. it will be a pump gas w/meth inj set up. I want to run in the 18-22 psi range.
Question: Am I going to run into an issue with back pressure with a 3" down pipe or should I step up to a 3.5" pipe? I have made the set up so a 3.5 will BARELY fit in and all the way out. Thanks in advance. G

With those boost levels, I would run a 3.5" personally. The bigger you can go the better, and if you can help yourself keep the back pressure down at those PSI, it will help with your IATs.
