those VA Speed pieces are nice, theres a member on here with w GN who has truck manifolds flipped up but since I'm not running AC or PS I was curious about the clearance with the manifolds flipped down

This guy used a ls4 manifold on his nova setup. Fyi, that's the ls4 manifold on the driver's side in the up and forward configuration. Our biggest problem with our g-bodies is finding a header or manifold that will clear the steering shaft. The ls4 manifold looks like it will!

This guy uses the same ls4 manifold on the passenger side for down and foward and a passenger side truck manifold on the driver side for down and forward configuration. For up and forward he puts the ls4 manifold on the driver side and the truck manifold on the passenger. He has a Nova also...
I've been wondering if the stainless works up and forwards would fit without hitting the steering shaft? If so, an even cheaper route would be the obx up and forwards that are $400 and stainless! They seem to have the same design as the SW. Here's a passenger side comparison that a member on here rigged up.

I've thought about taking a chance on the obx's and hoping they'll fit with a aftermarket g-body steering shaft like the TRZ with 3 different swivels for mounting relocation if the stock steering shaft hits the header. I'll probably end up going custom headers though.

Here's obx's on a fox with a view from the top. I'm thinking that on a g-body, the steering shaft will fit right under the last primary on the driver side.

Here's a pic of the SW on a nova and a 3rd gen camaro (not a g-body but you're able to see how the primaries are set up and compared to the obx fitment. These pics of the SW headers are what made me think the OBX's may fit.

Here's another pic from YB with custom down and forwards. You can also try to guesstimate where the obx's would fit if mounted to that same engine. Compare this pic of the steering shaft on the pic below, to the header onthe pic above...I think the obx's will be very close or need just a little massaging. It think they'll fit without a problem with a aftermarket steering shaft or a jeep cherokee shaft. That bulge on the stock shaft is what limits us too.

Test fitting the 5.3 outside 12° I used neutral position transdapt plates with moroso solid mounts and just dropped in with the truck pan although the sump hangs way below the crossmember. I want to use an ls4 manifold on the passenger side and the truck manifold on the drivers to get a down and forward setup. I plan to try a manual steering box next to see if I can get the truck manifold in.

I also would love to hear if these UP and forward OBX would work in a G body
also where would ps and alternator placement be if using these
,,i am sure i am capable of massaging the one primary if it doe hit the steering linkage..

NICE! Looks like i won't need custom headers after all...lol! I'm gonna weld 2-1/2" v-bands on those truck manifolds tho. I have 2-1/2" billet valve covers though...looks like my valve covers may hit those truck manifolds. I think the stock flanges with gaskets on the truck manifolds may leak with my set-up If i run 20psi??? Anyone run atleast 20psi with stock flanges?
