Yeah it's coming around right now actually they had it up on the dyno last night for the first Time getting some basic tuning done. I told them not to rush making the car wars race a week or so ago because I wanted to change a couple items in the build... The guys at unleashed have been working on it pretty steadily and the quality of the build shows. I've got a ton more pics to post on it that I'll get up and show tonight. The coating and design on the piping is insane.
Good to hear from ya Dee

Here's some updated pictures for ya... I'll get some more Monday or so when I pick it up from unleashed. Had a fuel regulator issue yesterday that kept it from getting done but should be ready by Monday!!
Wanted to show you the fuel pump housing that was Water Jetted and custom built with 3 fuel pumps and mounted. Its quiet as it can be, and flows some SERIOUS fuel! The underneath shot shows all the piping done up and air filter on. All the piping is coated in Jet Hot style heat coating. It looks fantastic up close.

Thanks,

Billy

Beautiful tube work!

If I might ask though...do you have any concerns about the proximity of the fuel tank to the turbo and the wastegate? Or do you have a fuel cell in the trunk?

I've got heat shielding on the bottom of the trunk (the silver matted looking stuff.... The trunk is also DynoMatted, with a fuel cell in the trunk. So I'm not worried about the heat issue from the turbo. Thats a good point though. I thought about it in the beginning, but with this particular setup it shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks,

Billy

Here's a few pics of the trunk to show you the heat matting and such...
There's also one with all the piping and such when it came back from the coating company.

Thanks man,

Billy

OOOO....
I thought I was looking at the the bottom of the tank, but thats the bottom of the trunk......very cool.

That fuel pump setup looks military....or star trek or something....like the dylithium crystal array......."Ready for warp drive Sulu"

Very cool.....

Yeah it's pretty awesome!! Surprisingly it's really quiet when it's running as well which surprised the crap out of me honestly. I'm looking really forward to getting it back this week. It's a blast!

Thanks man

Didn't get to dyno it yesterday unfortunately... The waste gate isn't sealing on it so it's blowing off boost all the time. It's an older style turbonetics waste gate that I had from another project. I picked up another one from eBay last night that appears to be the same style. (don't want to have to redo the flange, vband and all of that so want to go with the same type)... So hoping to get that shipped pretty quick and installed and we'll go from there!
It's a constant battle of miscellaneous "little" things that keep popping up on this thing. Guess those are always the project killers anyway! It's getting closer everyday...just little speed bumps every now and then right here at the end...

I hear ya man...keep chopping away at it. I've heard that this is always the case with turbo builds...gotta work out the little things, but once it's dialed in hold on! Lol! I haven't made much progress with my build lately (bills) I'll probably start messing around with it again at the end of the month. I'll keep you posted!

Nice build you have going on. I'm currently gathering parts for a 1980 Firebird build. I'm going to be doing a LQ4 swap. I bought the car up in Richmond at Camaro Central. I live down in Mount Vernon, KY.... so not too far away from you.

Thanks Ernie,

If you need any parts let me know I seem to have a bunch of second gen trans am and Camaro parts laying around these days
Next time you get up to Camaro central let me know, be good to meet a fellow ls1tech-er lol... Especially from the local area!

Just finished tuning it on the dyno. Video is uploading to our Facebook page now. Should be viewable in the next 10 minutes.

Thanks again Billy for letting us "have our way" with your car!
