I'm going with an S478 with a 4" down pipe, if i have a 3" cut out on the down pipe (out the bumper) and reduce the down pipe to 3" to go out of the back of the car, will the 2 combined (when the cut out is open) flow as much as a single 4" open down pipe?

So honestly do you get a lot if fumes if at all while driving around town windows down?

I know sitting at a light your gona get fumed depending on the wind, if you got a nice tail wind then you wo.t get ****. I get fumed now with a rear mount at a stop light, and even when I had a full exhaust setup cam only with no cats I would be getting fumed out at stoplights.

My only issue is does it go away completely when cruising?

Probably a stupid question but.....My car is a 69 Chevelle so I am not going to cut out the fenders for the exhaust exit. However, if you look at my set up I could easily purchase some Horseshoe bends and cut a hole in my inner fenders and then run it inside my wheel well and exiting out in front of the tire but still inside the fender where you would never see it. How are you guys makeing the holes? I get the hole saw to start it but how are you making a 3" hole? For a 3" downpipe exit? I thought if I do this it would look clean, keep the downpipe away from my fuel lines, and allow me to mount my coil brackets on the firewall. Also would keep some heat out of the engine compartment and in the fender well area. I have quite a bit of room because I only have 15x6's up front. Worse case I could remove the inner fenders completely.

Here is my set up. Post #184 has some pictures of my engine compartment.
