Default Oil drain through front cover?

I've seen a pic of someone who drilled and tapped the front cover, on the lower right. What's the preferred method? Show some pics.

interested in this as well. I really want to tap the front cover so I can resale the oil pan down the road if I need to, with no hole in it

Look up tally transam build. He also has pics. That's where I got the idea too. U have to have a underdrive pulley to help make room.

I looked at doing this on my turbo build, but I couldnt for the life of me figure out where I could tap it and still clear all the pulleys. And underdrive pulley would definitely make it easier. I ended up taping the side of the pan.

Ive had both the front cover and the side pan by the starter. I stayed with the side of the pan by the starter. Its out of the way.

As long as it is a gravity drain then no reason why not.
