Default Downpipe

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that IMHO it is definitely the downpipe. Generally they say to go larger than 3" at around 500rwhp, and you're clearly beyond that. I'm not exactly sure how cramped of a space you're working in, But I've seen big single turbo Supras gain 130+hp at the wheels going from 3" to 4" turbo back exhaust. It doesn't have to be a perfect cylinder shape either (although that would be the best thing), Silvias often use oval shaped downpipes because their ground clearance is so bad. I think you'd see HUGE gains opening up the exhaust.

GREG

PS Fantastic results BTW, get this thing up for sale!

Mustang guys on the TurboMustang.com board have run into the 9's with a 3" downpipe. From a power stand point, I think there are individuals on that site that are seeing more than 850rwhp thru a 3" downpipe. While it may not be optimal, it can be done.

[QUOTE=Rob Raymer]Got the new engine in finally and put it on the dyno.

Here are the specfics:

It's 8.7:1 compression and we were running 17lbs of boost on turbo blue (we tried using the same amount of Methanol as before, but it only took us from 767rwhp up to 780rwhp. So apparently with the lower compression motor, there wasn't as much to be gained.
Rob, I just purchased the Pro M maf so that I can use the GM PCM with my 1700 cfm blower. Are you using the Gm PCM with the stock MAF sensor?
