Nice build btw, great work.
Thank you; it’s been a fun and a great learning experience. The main reason I put it in was safety. With the power goals I’m shooting for I figured it wouldn’t hurt to bump the safety up a little. Another thing that justified it in my mind was making the car a little more rigid; which it helps way more than expected. I noticed it as soon as I jacked it up to change the wheels how minimal the flex in the body was. I say it’s not legal because that’s what is says on their web page when I ordered it. I’m guessing it has to do with the height of the bar. Below is the link for the dropped side bars.

Yep the springs and shocks stayed in the factory spot. The closest thing that would rub is currently the rear half of the wheel well and the control arm.

Thanks typhoon, I get my tuning done at APS Autoworks. They deal mostly in Mustangs but Casey who does the tuning has quite a bit of experience in LS engines as well.

Wow. That's badass. So 295 tire is the biggest you can fit?
Is the tub really necessary? Any more pics of the tub install?

I was shooting for 315's but I'm glad I went with 295's cuz any larger would have required a little more surgery.

Here is a pic of the spacers. A buddy of mine owns a machine shop so we whipped them up on the C&C in no time.

Another pic from a different angle. All I cut out was the front half of the wheel well and basically squared it off.

Shock clearance.

Control arm clearance. If I felt like hacking into it a little more I maybe could get a little bigger.

Noticed a little rubbing in the rear so I did some modifying with a BFH.

I like!
Do. You have the measurement of the spacers?
What axles do you have?

I don’t have the exact specs, I just scribbled them down and my buddy programmed them in. They are 1.25” wide or long however you want to look at it. If you remove the shock the bushing is inserted into the mount 3/8” or so, so I pretty much copied those dimensions to get the other features. Then I went to Fastenal and got a bolt that was 1.25” longer. The axles are stock with the exception of Porsche 930 CV joints. They are a lot more HD than the factory ones. It just so happens that they have the same bolt and spline pattern. Need to order those bolts from Fastenal also.

It’s been a while since I last logged in. I got a base tune on it at 7 lbs. last year to break the engine in. Since then I put some new comp cams roller lifters in and a new EPP blower cam while I was in there. The idle sounds nasty now! I am taking it to Carl next week to see if she goes or if she blows! I am hoping for something in the 700's.

He sounds like a pretty knowledgeable guy, just hope I didn’t drop the ball anywhere when I built the engine.

I actually bought some parts from you for my car. I got the C6 manifold Idea from the GTO you were building at the time, and I'm pretty sure I know the GTO you are talking about (Maroon TT LSX). I watched the customer run it at BIR last year.

I plan to run mine in BIR Power Cruse this year.
