Some pics of the almost finished hotside. Need to weld in the wastegate pieces quick. Thoughts on the gate placement ? Running two 38mm gates this time. The drivers side isn't quite where I wanted it but that side is close to the frame rail. Passenger side is right in the flow though. Hopefully starting on the downpipe this weekend. That should be fun!

You should be fine, but post a picture of how you plan to angle the waste gate feeds from the cross over.

A few better pics of the turbo placement.

4" downpipe fits pretty easily. Should be fun to make though.

More to come this weekend.

Was sent another video of one of the 9 second passes last year. Hoping to improve on this with the stock junk.

Will hopefully have more progress pics this weekend. We got the wastegate flanges all welded on so the hotside is done. Just needs painted and wrapped. Somewhat in a filter dilema as well. I have about 6" of room to fit a filter in there and was thinking of going with this guy here...

Amazon.com: aFe 24-50506 Universal Clamp On Air Filter: Automotive Amazon.com: aFe 24-50506 Universal Clamp On Air Filter: Automotive

Thoughts? I will probably remove it when at the track but definitely want something for the street.

Lastly, can a mod tell me why my thread title will not change? It shows it as changed in the first post but it won't change it on the forum link.

Looking good!

Have you checked RPS for filters? http://www.racepartsolutions.com/ind...273&Itemid=564

If you figure out how to change your thread title let me know... I have the same problem with mine. Seems like after the thread is so old you aren't able to edit the title. Or something like that.

Thanks man. I have checked out RPS filters and didn't find anything with a 5" inlet. I absolutely hate trying to navigate their site.

Still trying to find the answer to our thread title issue though!

Didn't realize that... I hate the new site too. The old one was MUCH easier to navigate!

Looking good!!

Wonder how much business RPS lost with the site change. I used to order all the time, used the new site once, and havent ordered since.

So it's been awhile but I have somewhat of an update. We sold our house and had to be out March 24th. I didn't have much time to work on the car during March due to it being really cold, fixing stuff on the house for inspection, moving, etc. Did have a late night installing my 9 inch the day before we had to be out of the house, then winch it up on a trailer to take to my buddies place to finish. The one car garage at our townhome rental wasn't going to cut it. That will all be dealt with when our new house is completed sometime this summer.

The new garage will be nice. It's 26' deep on the two stall portion, and 34' deep in the 3rd stall, and the whole thing is 36' wide. It will be plumbed for heat (gas line), 220v outlet, washtub with hot/cold, drain in the floor, and fully insulated. I have aspirations of eventually putting a lift in it but that will be a ways down the road. Anyway, onto the car.

I ordered a 9 inch from Trick Chassis in Wisconsin. It's got 35 spline Strange axles with a S-trac diff and a 3.00 gear. It's a nice piece. Like I mentioned above, my buddy was kind enough to let me put my car up in his garage for the time being. We have started running the battery cutoff/relocation stuff. The hotside is all on and motor put back together after the cam swap. Waiting on a few other pieces and hopefully will have it running in the next couple of weeks. Here are a couple of quick pics I took the other night.

We decided to run the downpipe out of the front bumper on the passenger side for now. I will eventually have a cutout setup installed and run it out back with either 3" or 3.5" pipe so I can cruise quietly. My main goal right now is to get it up and running and out of his garage. He has the Silver 280Z build going here on the forum and has a lot of work ahead of him. I don't want to impede too much with his build.

I sold my TTII wheels and tires and will be rocking the stock chrome 5 spoke wheels this year. Will have a cheap tire up front and either a Nitto or Mickey out back. Eventually I want to get a 17x7 Darkstar instead of the 17x4.5. I don't like how it feels on the street with the small footprint up front.

I should hopefully have a few more updates this coming weekend.

Yep, sorry. Been busy the past few weekends trying to get it buttoned up. If all goes as planned, it should be driving by the end of this coming weekend.

Some updates with crappy pictures below. I mounted the overflow tank behind the driver headlight. Any reason it won't work there? I run distilled water and water wetter.

Also mounted the vacuum block on the drivers side frame rail. Got all the vac lines ran as well. You can kind of see the block in this pic.

Got the car fired up with the turbo off. It started right up and sounded good. I think I will enjoy the sound of this cam a lot better than the TU1, and it it will be a better match for this turbo. Didn't get a video of it since we only ran it for about 30 seconds. I will get one this week at some point.

I also picked up a set of countour fans and trimmed them to fit the Griffin radiator. They are quite a bit more slim than the stock fans. I need to get some tabs welded in on the lower radiator support to hold the fans. I have a buddy that will bend me a top shroud as well to pretty some things up a bit. This week we will get the downpipe made and get the turbo bolted down for the final time. Like I mentioned earlier, I want to be able to drive it around by the end of the weekend and that should be a reality as long as I get my driveshaft from PST. It's supposed to be here by Friday at the latest.

I am not sure what they are. It's been over a year and a half since I bought them. I just went into the parts store and went behind the counter to look at all the hoses. I actually had to take metal out of the bottom hose and cut it shorter now to get it to fit right with the new kit. Sorry I can't be of more help. Finding hoses is a pain in the *** for sure.

Do those gates work good? I know they're cheap, but if the work good, it could save us other guys A LOT of money by not paying for the brand name ones.
