Thanks. I hear you there. Hopefully this damn thing shows up tomorrow.

Thanks man. They are definitely cool trucks. Only drawback is the MPG. I averaged 13 MPG driving back but was running 75-80 most of the way. I had a buddy tweak my tune a bit. I plan to get it loaded tonight and see how much of a difference it makes.

Well this build thread just went to **** thanks to photobucket.

In other news though, I got my converter finally. Hopefully I will have the drivetrain in this weekend.

Figured it was time for an update. This is where I currently sit with the car.

I am hoping to have it fired this weekend or early next week. My plan is to still have it race ready for the end of this month. We will see if I make it or not.

Haha, thanks. I can't wait until I can make a pass. Just hoping everything works as it should.

Looks good Rudy.

I made a little more progress last night. Will be back at it again tonight as well.

Any thoughts on what to do about this bolt on my alt? I deleted the power steering and the belt is hitting it. Thought about getting a button head bolt or something similar to use.

I had the same issue with the belt on mine. An allen head bolt or a small headed bolt would probably be the correct way to fix it. I don't know a PN though.

I just ground the bolt a little. Doesn’t need much clearance. Make sure you grind it smooth in case the belt contacts it every now and then. Been going strong for 7 years and I’ve never damaged or lost a belt.

What if you pulled the bracket off and had the hole machine for a countersunk Allen bolt?

I'll give this a shot since it's easy and free. Thanks.

That'd be nice but I have no idea where I'd take it to get done. I'll see if I can't grind this bolt and if that doesn't work then I will try to find something else to work.

Use a large drill bit as a countersink bit.

Should be making some steam tomorrow night. I primed the fuel system the other night and of course I had some leaks. Tightened a few fittings but one on the passenger side rail is leaking at the swivel. I was sent a replacement fitting and I also ordered some conical seals to try first and also have in the toolbox.

Also had an issue with my thermostat housing leaking after I started to fill the radiator. Me being me, tried to tighten the bolts up a little more and ended up pulling the threads out of the top bolt hole. I ran the tap down through it and installed a stock bolt with some blue loctite and snugged it up. Still leaks so I slopped some GOOP (I know, I know) around the outside of the housing/pump area. Water still leaked through so I am going to get a new o-ring gasket for the thermostat, helicoil the pump, and reinstall again. Not sure what else to do at this point. It never leaked before but now for some reason it wants to. I am open to any other ideas!

I unhooked the injectors, pulled the fuel pump fuse, and cranked it over last night. According to my gauge in TunerStudio I have 40 psi of oil pressure. Sound about right for just turning it over?

Might block sand the housing and mating surface. Doesn't take much to seal torque wise on those tiny 10mm bolts.

Ensure the little nub on the o-ring gasket deal is positioned correctly?

Good luck!

Yeah, the nub is positioned correctly. It's the CBM housing.

I'll try sanding it bit.

Thanks

40 psi of oil pressure is fine. Fire it up!
