Holy crap.... That's insane, and I love it! E85 must be really hard to pre-detonate on. It does seem as though if you run low timing (10ish) on lower boost (10-12) E85 makes less power than 91oct does... well I'm gonna try 18* on 16#s and be a little more aggressive on the IAT table.

Alot of factors come into play. Static Comp, Dynamic Comp, plugs, back pressure, and race weight are just a few of the major ones. Best thing to do is get on a dyno, start off safe and turn it up until it doesn't make anymore power. 99% of the time, e85 will stop making power before it gets into detonation. Specially on a dynojet (no real world load).

Yeah, we just dont have a dyno near by... Now I might be getting the static/dynamic CR's mixed up but correct me if im wrong. Im not sure where a good dynamic CR calculator is so I'm not sure what it is but the engine has LS1 MLS gaskets (slightly bigger bore) and is otherwise stock, that should mean the static compression is around 9.3-9.4, and the exact cam specs are 212/212 .561/.561 112 +4, and the spark plugs are NGK BR7EF.

The hot side of his home grown turbo kit has stock truck manifolds, dual 2.5" from there into a single 3" and into the turbo (Magnum BB 76mm with the 64x74mm exhaust housing) and then a 3.5" DP with a cutout.

Hope this helps to get some intput on how much timing you guys could recommend.

Well he ended up running pretty good on about 15.5 psi and 18* timing!

Close but not! He had a 1.75 on that pass, his best was 1.73 for the night. He has a two-step, but is leaving off the foot brake with a 3200 stall.

What's everyone doing with their IAT tables ? I zeroed out the cells up to 140* then start pulling 2* and slowly ramps up from there.

E85 is great stuff my tuner in columbus says that you can pretty much run no intercooler at your regular n/a timing. I just wish I could get it around where I live so I dont have to run avgas.

No intercooler here and no problems. Numbers in my sig were put up with IAT in the 150's.

Nail on the head, mine started losing power above 19* without Knock. No reason to keep throwing timing at it if it doesnt produce power. But mines a completly differant beast, 408 at 18 lbs boost. Best way without the dyno is to watch your mph at the track, if u add timing and mph falls your losing hp. Good luck

10-16psi, and my timing is always around 19-20* on top, a couple lower at peak tq

e50 and a little bit of water/meth

Bingo! If you can make more with more timing do it, if not then theres no reason to add it and you have an even larger safety window. Downside is not all these cars are track legal, mine for example isnt because I dont have a cage, etc.
