Default LQ9 whipple build

ok so im fairly certain for my vette ive decided on a lq9 block for FI. what i need to do now is pull the pieces together for my build however ive never built an engine before. want to build it and learn instead of getting a crate motor that ill have no idea about. all ive got so far is below please critique my build and add/subtract what you guys think would work better, and if something isnt going to work dont be afraid to call me on it, im open to criticism and still learning. aim is for 650rwhp and nice torque curve to start with. but also with room to grow as i get bored with 650. wouldnt push past 900rwhp.

lq9 block
317 heads home ported
harland sharp 1.7 rockers
comp beehive springs and chromoly pushrods
cheater v.3 blower cam
whipple twin screw blower
summit 85mm TB home port
ls2 timing chain
stock ls1 crankshaft
melling oil pump for ls1
mezerie electric water pump
volant CAI

the rest im not sure on, i dont even know what pistons of comp ratio i should be aiming for, even what boost id like to run. these kind of things i have no idea on. thanks for any input/advice.

stock fLS1 crank will work fine. You can run as much boost as you want till it blows up... JKJK
I have read several builds on here where they have pushed 15-18# but they done usually last too long unless the tune is spot on. If you want to put up big numbers build your shortblock so it can handle some abuse.

well i plan on beefing up the block some but im not looking to make 1000 or over. i think the max id ever do is 850 to the rear.

700-800 is doable with a 2.3 Maggie or HVT. I am sure a Whipple 2.9 or better will do so too. Problem with the Whipple is their kits are for the LS3 type heads. If you get one you may have to either fabricate a manifold or go with LS3 heads on the stroker. You should check that out before you go spend money on the 317s. You really need someone to help you do the math. Compute your DR and SCR before you decide for sure on the pistons. flow match the heads and cam with the blower. Alternatively the sandrail kit has cathederal style head manifolds as do some of the truck applications. Just a couple of thoughts there. Right at the 15 lbs of boost area you may have to decide on a 3 bar map.
