Default Tig welding a bead around the throttle body?

On a stock 75mm ported throttle body. Is it a good idea to tig weld a bead around the front of the throttle body to prevent the coupler from blowing off under boost? Lets say 15-20psi? I know the FAST TB's have a nice lip, but the stock ones only have a very slight ridge. Is this a concern or not worth the effort?

I've welded a bead on the aluminum housing of a GM maf when we used them on the DSMs. It shouldnt be a problem at all, provided whoever welds it knows what they're doing. CLEAN, CLEAN, then CLEAN the part.

I weld 8 bumps on the lip so that I don't over heat the bearings/seals on the shaft. I have seen more experienced tig welders submerge the TB in water to keep the seals safe so that a V-band could be welded on.

Hairspray helps, but cleanliness is vital ! and a good quality hose clip.

And it works amazing! When i took apart my GTO kit that built, frig! I was cussing trying to get that bitch back apart.

You know when your pulling and old vacuum line off something and your prying flat head screw drivers up in the end trying to brake it loose,

Yeah... Thats how mine was. lol

I also had an intake elbow that kept popping off with boost. After a tig weld, it never came off under boost again.

BINGO! I did this to the grips on my quad. I changed them recently and they were a PITA to get off.
