Also,i hope no one is.scared away from the bp testing I have done on my comp. Im at 1:2 (intake pressure: exhaust pressure) Not many test their bp and post up results. I think most turbos including the proven precision would be the same.

I think the main thing to put anyone off a new brand...is that newness itself. There is no tried and tested, there is no reliability history.

Customer service....should be selling the right product and shipping it fast.

And of course building a product that performs, and performs well.

How many Comp's are out there ? They certainly look nice. Would still be hard to trust an oil-less turbo though

Would be nice if someone made plastic dummies of turbochargers for trial fit purposes...would make it easier to see the biggest unit that could be fitted to a car.

I'm forever tempted to switch to a turbo, but I'd really need to see how to package it first as space is so tight.
Oil-less and waterless would make life even easier.

Well even the non-oiled are still supposed to take water to cool them.

Comp isn't as new as some of you may think. When Innovative turbo split one side started Exile Turbo (Rick Head) and the other side started comp turbo. They still use the same straight trim turbine wheels on some of their turbos that crutched the innovative turbos.

Yes, and when Innovative went **** up...anyone needing a unit repaired was screwed and ended up having to buy another unit as it was impossible to source parts for the repair.
Been there, got the t-shirt etc.
They were good units though.

I like the comp turbo's and sounds like you got a good one, but I don't see how 2mm on the exducer is going to gain you anything in back pressure.

I would think it would take a bit more of a change to see a reduction like you would like to see.

luckily I havent given them any money yet, but they still have my old turbo. I have asked them very simple questions, and they cant get back to me with answers. In the meantime, my car has been down almost a month beacause of this

EDIT: They have been super busy, but calling 100 times helps. I finally got it figured out

I'd say just be patient...don't be so quick to give up on them. It took me around a month to get mine also. I was initially told 2-3 weeks and it ended up being 4 on the dot. One things for sure...i was happy as hell when i picked it up! I'm very interested in seeing how your combo performs with that turbo so please hang in there :-). How long has it been since you placed the order?

Hmm, i'm talking to Justin at the moment and we're discussing the ct5 80-79 for my 398. I think it's gunna be too small if i want to make around 1100rwhp through a T56.

Thoughts? First recommendation was the 78/79. That would be way too small.

They do think alittle on the import side over there. They usually deal with alot smaller motors where that's a huge turbo. You should get a large t6 turbo in the 91mm range. that 7978 would be too small

Those Comps sure look nice. After seeing what happened to Tim Lynch with his Precision turbos as well as many other racers, I would be straight up afraid of running one of their units in a max effort car. Tim Lynch could have been killed when his turbos came apart. Im not sure if all their turbos have that problem but Im pretty sure all the bigger Pro Mod series does. And they sure as hell went about it in an awful way. Many racers had their Precisions fail catastrophically and take out the engine/car with them. And each time I know of PTE said that it was the owners fault. They gave multiple reasons to different people, not enough oil, too much oil, etc. Yet each time the same thing was happening.

Im not trying to bad mouth PTE or say they have an inferior product. But after seeing the same thing happen so many times, and PTE basically ignoring it and saying its the owners fault; I would go with one of those nice new Garrett GTXs, Borg Warner, or Comp.

For what its worth fi never made me 100% happy. They never screwed me over either. Just claims that turbos would support XXXX number and it didn't. I had a borgwarner 87mm turbine 1.25ar devided T4 housing and at 11 lbs boost I saw 14psi bp. This was off a 365ci. The new turbo I'm going with was built by reed at work turbo and should let me make 1200 to the flywheel. The hardest part about a turbo is picking the right turbine and housing. The compressor side it all ready maped out. How often do you hear about people talking about what turbine wheels flow. It took me weeks of searchine to find turbine flow data and it was all found on different fourms.
