Dam you got it looking good. If you don't mind me asking what's your build's total cost so far?

EBay on the tires. You can find some VERY good sellers that specialize in high performance used tires that have like 99.5-100% positive feedback. I've bought many sets on EBay and only had a few minor issues that the seller corrected quickly. Trust me, negative feedback hurts a lot to power sellers.

I couldn't pass up that deal.

Thanks for the info. I never thought of ebay for tires.

What do you all think, coated all faded trim and tinted the brake lamps. Tomarrow I'll wet sand and buff the lamps to look like paint. I think it's one of the baddest looking blazers I have ever seen!

****UPDATE****

Spent alot of time this weekend on the tune. I'm now finally able to log AFR, AFR Error % and make changes to target my desired AFR at idle, part throttle and cruise. Running much much better!! Also changed up my downpipe, now routed in the fenderwell kinda like my original design. Next few days I'm gonna start logging WOT pulls and make all AFR VE changes (Family riding around this weekend in blazer lol, so no wot pulls). Keep in mind this is with a relatively large cam with an auto AND stock un-drilled TB. Getting pretty good tuning with HPtuners, runs excellent idle quality is very very nice!

AND of coarse I have some new videos with the 8.8 Saleen Swap!

Hey awesome build. Sorry if it has been asked already; do you wish you went with a bigger or smaller turbo at all? or is the 76 perfect?

Thanks man. Nope, so far this cheapo on3 turbo has worked flawless. I need to work on my fuel system tho. I noticed on my wot logs, AFR is 11.4 at 17lbs of boost, duty cycle is at 102%. Pretty sure my piggy backed pumps are not up to the task. Going to switch to a 340 in-tank pump.

I thought you guys might like this. When I was waiting on parts blah blah blah I decided to build a grill for the blazer. No, not a front grill, a cooking grill. I found a great deal on a kingsford box grill on closeout for like $20 at acedemy. I had a piece of roll cage tubing sitting around, some angle iron and some spreaded metal sheet. I acually used a few pieces on the 2.5" crossover pipe that I had sitting around along with a C6 Corvette exhaust tip haha. I thought it would be awesome to slide the grill in reciever hitch, take it to car meets or race track, grill some hot dogs and burgers then take it down the track. I'm gonna get some videos of this thing on the back cruising down the highway hahaha.

So far last year I grilled about 100 burgers on this thing, prob 500 hot dogs and a few chickens, steaks and snakes.

Custom breather I made for cheap.

It's apparent you spend money in attempt to epic fail and succeed on your previous builds. "Half Assed" I would have used a rubber band that fatigues to heat rather than my worm style gear clamp that has no bearing in relation to outside engine heat which would have referenced the term "presidential solution" alot better. Keep up the good job following my threads Waldo.

It sounds great. I think it is a little low on idle rpm but still sounds great. Good to see you figuring out the tuning. I am soon gonna be trying my hand at it. We'll see. Love the BBQ. Miller lite is nice for an american beer. Cheers.

Thanks bud, over time the idle is getting better and better. Damn big cams are tought to idle as I am trying to do it without modifing the throttle body. I can't believe I never bought HPTuners before this build, it's really really good stuff. Good luck and just have patience, trust me, you'll learn it.

Hey man,
I want to compliment you on an awesome build!!! To document it as well as you have is even cooler! I just started building a twin to your truck, 01 blacked out Xtreme blazer, bought stupid cheep with a blown motor. Going to do a set of small twins up front feeding a 5.3 with 70k on it, should be alot of fun. This is my first swap (not first build), and I have been doing alot of research, and your thread is by far the most information I have found in one spot. How are you making out with the On3? They are so tempting (even more so for my budget), but all I can think is harbor freight quality, IDK whats your impression? Again, bad *** truck!!!

Thanks bud I appreciate that. I can tell you its a blast man! I'm actually in the middle of a motor swap. Injector #5 Failed (I knew it had problems, changed plugs 4 times, #5 always looked new compared to all the rest, injector body was leaking) WOT and clearly went very lean and melted the #5 piston. I happen to score a really good deal on a L33 aluminum 5.3 that is going in as we speak. That'll give me a chance to build the 5.3 I'm taking out as a backup just in case I get a little aggressive haha. I'm also changing up the turbo loaction a little as I wanna lower the front down quite a bit and the way it was the upper control arm would rub pretty good on the downpipe. Seems like a PITA for a swap, but is actually fairly easy lol. Save 100lbs+ by switching to aluminum block and removing HVAC completely.

As far as 0n3 Turbo's, my experience is VERY positive. Have ZERO complaints, bad*** turbo. Was actually contemplating while everything was out going ahead and doing a twin setup, buuuuuut I am making great power with this single.

That stinks that you deep fried a piston... Im not worried too much about that extra 100lbs an L33 would save, if i was worried about weight, i would go on a diet before spending the extra cash. I am doing a total AC delete, (as soon as i can come across the coveted non AC air box) for space reasons, and i dont use AC anyway. Also for space im relocating the ECM and battery into the cab. Moving the ABS pump alongside the driver frame rail under the floor board. Fabing a new aluminum coolant tank ect...

Im also thinking of moving the coil packs alongside the block and fabbing my headers on an upward swing (like when some guys turn the manifolds upside down). This will in turn give me more clearance for my downpipe. Honistly im not shooting for the stars as far as power goes, but ive always wanted to build a twin setup. I hope to have the motor set in there for the first time this weekend, and then i can start firming up the plans.

sorry to hear about the motor man, just think of it this way, you saved a couple of hundred not upgrading that hptuners standard to the pro

hope all is well.
