Can someone give a complete cost to swap to one of these? Everything required to put in a 4th gen fbody.

If you did want just a little bit more ummmpfh... consider the LPE GT9
Specs vs LS9 Cam are:
GT9 - .629/.656 lift with 1.7 rockers, 215/247 duration at .050, 121 CL
LS9 - .558/.552 lift with 1.7 rockers, 211/230 duration at .050, 122.5 CL.

Install tips from LPE:
http://www.lingenfelter.com/LPEforum...LS2-LS6-or-LS1

Might only be a few bucks difference in price overall... dunno...
Don't forget, you'll likely want to replace your springs in either case, so that's a wash.

You need a ls2 front cover and the cam sensor. And obviously you need to make the cam sensor wiring longer. And cam gear

yep yep, i used a 2010 pickup truck front cover
and bought the 1x cam gear from LPE
then cut my wires on the MSD box... you have to flip the two outside wires, and extend them to the front cover, and thats it.

its a 3 bolt cam.

you can get everything from SDparts online..

the ls9 cam for like 140
the front cover and the sensor for like 110ish
and then they might have the cam gear, not sure of the part, hold on i might have a pic.

thats the 4 event and the 1 event next to each other when i swapped them out.

i originally had the 4x in my car wich was incorrect lol.

if you have a late 2004 or 2005 and newer motor you should have the right cam gear.

could you run the cam without the cover, cam gear and sensor? when i first did mine I had the wires wrong so the cam sensor wasnt reading, the only downfall is you have to start it by turning it over 2x...otherwise it backfires

Im running it. Running it with stock LS3 springs (yellow). Springs with crazy seat pressure will hurt the cam. Numbers below. Keep in my that I am running the cam with the style of heads it was designed for.

I'm guessing 6speed? Would make sense with the numbers.

ok im curious as to why the ls9 cam over a custom grind?
i mean it looks like to do an ls9 cam swap would cost @ 300 $ give or take....
cams is 100+ shipping , wiring extenders @ 25 + shipping , front cover with sensor 100+ shipping, cam gear ?, ls2 @ 2005 year dampener ? lpe site says the dampener is also needed ? idk just what i found out during my research.

bc a custom grind comp cam for me anyways is obtainable for less then then that cost.
i think they give the public a price of 350 for a custom grind cam ?
i just dont see how saving 50$ or a little more is justified here.
just my .02 cents

I am using it with LSA heads. It is working great for me. I had to upgrade my LS9 valvesprings though at 11 psi. Just run a decent set of springs with it. It doesnt need anything crazy though. I would never run a set of beehives again.

I notice that my milage is awesome with this cam as well. Idles at 22 in/vac and drives around seriously at 20-18 in/vac. Makes power EVERYWHERE. low rpm/high rpm, in boost/out of boost. Literally pulls all the way to 7000. Are there cams that can make more power. Sure. For the $$ and the power increase you will get you honestly cant go wrong with this for a street car.

It has a really healthy sounding idle too. Not an aggressive thumpy stalling lope. Just a healthy chopping sound. Much more aggressive than stock but you can just tell Mustang guys/dumbasses that its a stock cam.
