Default turbo exhaust

are any of you running with just pipe straight off the turbo? im going to be doing an ls swap in my 87 camaro and im thinking about maybe going turbo later on. i would think the exhaust note would be muffled some by the turbo but how much? this may be a dumb question but i have no experiance with turbos. any input is appriciated. thanks!

I'm running just the downpipe dumped after my k-member and it's quieter than my old setup with headers and e-cutout open. It's not quiet but it's tolerable for me...

I have mine open right now and it dumps right below my cab. Well it is pretty loud. probably would be better with a little more pipe length but I need to quiet it down. I am in the search for the "perfect" muffler lol.

id run open headers on the street if i could get away with it lol. think i could get away with running it out in front of the rear passenger tire without too much attention from the coppers?

Do you street that? I'd think the muffler sticking out in the front bumper might attract some unwanted attention lol. I like the set up though!

Depends on the setup.... depends on the heads/cam/compression, turbo size and housing, header collector size and exhaust pipe downpipe size.

My old 401 shortblock at 9 to 1 with mild 195cc heads and baby 233 deg cam, .564" lift breathing thru a hybrid log/header type manifold into a .68 a/r P-trim wheel was fairly quiet with straight 3" down pipes (twin turbo). I just ran bullets on the rear to quiet it down abit more for my liking.

New setup is same shortblock with 245cc heads and a 246 deg .640" cam, .96 a/r housing on the same turbos with new tubular header manifolds this time and same 3" exhaust back. WAY to loud now... ridiculous with open pipes and bullets did not help much. I added 6" round case 14" long dynomax ultraflo's in addition to the bullets just to get car around same volume as it was with old setup. RIDICULOUS how much difference there was.
