Given a certain volume in a combustion chamber to create X amount of cylinder pressure, I am going to fill as much of that volume as humanly possible with a combustible (air/fuel) rather than filling it with an aluminum piston (notsomuch combustible)

I have been curious about this for a while as well. I plan on going with a stroked LS2/LS3 this winter and will have to run it NA for about 6 months to a year until I have funds for the blower. I planned on running on 93 pump fuel (no meth, etc) and was wondering what the highest CR I could run safely. Sounds like 9.5 to maybe 10:1 at the most? Probably wont see more than 15-16 psi.

Mine has 853's on it, get it right lol
On e85, 16.5 psi it went 8.92 @ 159 in my 3430 lb Camaro with a 1.40 60'... on 16*of timing...
On 19psi it made 930rwhp. If I thought the stock block and crank were up to the task I would push it up to 25 psi or so but thats gonna have to wait till my new motor is finished. New motor will be at least 11.5:1

What power level you trying for? Mahle makes 4032 and 2618 pistons, if you plan on 850 plus it should have the 2618. That ratio will not forgive mistakes is the downside. The upside is this aint your first rodeo!
