The LS6 intake is better than a Fast 102MM or Pro-Flow XT?

No, but for what he wants to do the LS6 is the best option.

I think the MM car has All Pro heads and ls7 intake. Quite a bit of difference from ls6 and ls7 intake

There are a bunch of contributing factors.
.....but cylinder pressure is torque, and torque over time is horspower.

I know what you're saying, excess or spikes in cylinder pressure from detonation is bad for any motor.

I would agree the LS6 intake is the way to go for your setup but I do think you might want to consider a larger turbo to hit your 850whp goals... you will really need to push a 76mm pretty hard to hit those number I think.

Ls6 intake is a proven intake. And its very budget friendly. The fast intakes are nice too but they are a pretty penny for sure.

Over on Performance trucks in the "Internal Engine Modifications" section, there is a sticky with flow test results for these intakes, but I dont know about dyno tests.

Ive been on this forum for many years now, and Ive said this a few times.

Ive yet to see any proper back to back testing of an LS6 intake vs the competition. And lets face it, there are a lot of intakes out there.
I'd have thought that if many of them are so good, and offer much more power ( I'm talking boosted applications only ), these companies would have done this testing and would be shouting the results to the world as to how much better their intakes performed.

But nope....I'm not aware it has happened. Which does make you wonder !

For sure, it's all about control.

Some of you guys should read this article, they test the truck intake vs the fast with and without boost. http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...urbo_kit_test/

That test showed:

FAST > Truck manifold by 26HP NA engine.

FAST > Truck manifold by 16HP Boosted engine.

Use a LS6 manifold and it would be even closer.

Hard to beat factory manifolds for boosted apps.

The truck manifold actually makes about the same hp as a ls6 inake, maybe even a little more.

A bad tuner would be #1 in my books

Only manifold test I've seen was in GMHT. The truck manifold made more torque down low, but the ls6 killed it up top.

And in the tune timing is key.

Ignition timing that is too far advanced will create excess cylinder pressure too early in the pistons rise to TDC. This is one of the many things that causes the heads to lift.

It depends what truck intake as there are several different ones. But either way it's safe to say that the extra cost of the fast intake is not justifiable over the proven ls6 in a turbo application. 16hp can easily be made up with 1 lb of boost and it's free.

I like the LS6 in applications like this while I do prefer the Holley Hi-Ram or a Super Victor with a Wilson elbow the LS6 just works, and it's cheap.
