Cylinder pressure.
Excess timing creates excess cylinder pressure, excess boost creates excess cylinder pressure, too small of a cam creates more dynamic compression which creates too much cylinder pressure, too much static compression creates excess cylinder pressure........etc. etc. etc.
There are a bunch of contributing factors.

I know what you're saying, excess or spikes in cylinder pressure from detonation is bad for any motor.

I would agree the LS6 intake is the way to go for your setup but I do think you might want to consider a larger turbo to hit your 850whp goals... you will really need to push a 76mm pretty hard to hit those number I think.

Ive yet to see any proper back to back testing of an LS6 intake vs the competition. And lets face it, there are a lot of intakes out there.
I'd have thought that if many of them are so good, and offer much more power ( I'm talking boosted applications only ), these companies would have done this testing and would be shouting the results to the world as to how much better their intakes performed.
But nope....I'm not aware it has happened. Which does make you wonder !

Some of you guys should read this article, they test the truck intake vs the fast with and without boost. http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...urbo_kit_test/

That test showed:
FAST > Truck manifold by 26HP NA engine.
FAST > Truck manifold by 16HP Boosted engine.
Use a LS6 manifold and it would be even closer.
Hard to beat factory manifolds for boosted apps.
