Default voltage drops when i go into heavy boost, starts to blow out spark, common?

when i get into heavy boost, hp tuners says i an at 11ish volts. is this just the alt not being able to keep up with all the extra accecories? it started doin it after i added the new holley dominator pump, website says it draws up to 36 amps. thought that was alot.

not sure where to start. its got a new alt and new batt on it. at idle i can see the voltage drop slightly once in awhile, and the car will start to chug.

I had the same problem and swaped in a truck altenator 145 amp which helped the voltage but not the spark blow out . I had to bring my gap down to .20 to stop the spark blowout.

What are your plugs gapped at?

I had an alternator I bought off ebay that stopped charging above 6000rpm.

No idea why it was doing it. Put the original one back on and it was fine.

i know the alt seems pretty hard to turn, and i was reving the car at idle, and noticed that even at idle if i rev it slowly it wont break up, if i stab the throttle, it does. and when it breaks up goin down the road, it doesnt do it untill the rpms climb real fast from the boost

Sounds like a electrical connection issue. Check the back of the alternator where the power terminal is and make sure its tight. Also check the 1 wire connection from the PCM.

Had the same issue with 4 different "rebuilt" alternators. Bought a junkyard 145 amp for 45$ and it's fixed lol

I used to have really bad misfire issues last year. I tried everything, plug gaps, valve springs, wires, alternators, dwell timing, coils etc. I did some testing on the dyno and noticed my coils we're getting very hot. I swapped to a set of my buddies ls2 coils and my car instantly gained a lot of power. I eventually bought the d585 truck coils and ran my dwell timing up to 5 m/sec. This fixed a lot of my issues but not all of them. I was also having issues with my msd wires not always snapping on correctly. I bought a set of firecore wires and all my issues are a thing of the past.
