My attraction to them is pretty much everything but the price lol. They look amazing (the only forced induction that actually improves the aesthetics of your engine bay in opinion), they sound awesome, I personally like where the power comes on low and instantly, it doesn't clutter up your engine bay anywhere and you don't have to buy a different k-member to make it fit (although most kits include a 1/4" k-member drop). And sure, in the long run they won't make as much power as a turbo, but they're still good for 900hp and I honestly never see myself wanting any more than that so I'm ok with it. no offense taken, just explaining the reason some of us are more interested in a twin screw. also, for me at least, I like not having what lots of other people have. I'd love to park in the f-body section of my local car show, pop the hood, and have something that nobody else there has although there's 5 other boosted 4th gens right beside me lol. that's my take on it anyway. I know you're just trying to point out the pros and cons and maybe save someone money on something they might not like as much as something else so I still appreciate that

PS: thanks for the input I8UR4RD, that's pretty much what it boils down too is just taking the road less traveled. Mine is a daily driver so while good track times are great it still takes a backseat to cruising and general purpose and I feel good torque down low might actually improve that

I am a turbo man at heart, but cant deny I have gotten hooked on PD blowers lately. I wanted one for my ss, but it its not common and I don't think anyone even makes something specific for 98_02 ls1 fbody.
you may have luck adapting a gto or c5/c6 setup kit on ur car.
im adapting a gt500 m122 to my car, but its a 3rd gen and I have plenty of room available. its all custom stuff im making. but it should work fine and have that instant throttle response im looking for.

Hawksthirdgen sells a kit for 98-02 F-bodies, it's a Maggy M112 with a 1/4" k-member drop kit and a notching template for the cowl, but the notching is said to not be very severe. Also Whipple sells a kit for 98-02 F-bodies on their website but they don't specify any special equipment to make it fit

I would love for whipple to make a front feed 2.3L setup for the f-body. I think that would be ideal to get it to fit easier and still be capable of making pleanty of power.

wonder if we can get tsp or some company to maybe do a huge group buy pre-order of a front feed 2.3 or 2.9, i think the 2.3 will satisfy enough people make enough power for most people. nicely built LS1 or ls2, maybe even a 383 stroker will be enough for the 2.3L.

what say you, tsp, vengance, tick, EPS?

So a 3rd gen F body will have more room under the hood to accommodate a PD blower like the whipple 2.9?!

Yep. Lots more room to work. I fit a GTO MP112 under the stock hood of my IROC pretty easy. No cutting, notching, lowering k-member...just bolt on and go.

bump, been looking at magnachargers heartbeat system, they have plans on making a cathedral port version soon, should be out around summer.

but now that balastic speed and performance sells a great small bore ls3 heads for under 2k, it makes this even more of a possibility if you want to keep small cubes. be perfect for a forged 6.0 LS2 that i want to do.

yeah i seen Hawks, very nice, but im liking the stealthy look of the heartbeat system. plus might not need cutting the cowl, might get away w/ only a spacer. i have an e-mail but i'm at work. i think they magnuson said that the heartbeat system was 1 7/16ths taller then stock intake manifold, LS3. not sure if theres a height difference between LS6 and LS3 manifolds, but i plan on measuring the space between the manifold and the cowl see if all we would need is a spacer. they'll offer a tuner kit, for us to route our own heat exchanger and pumps. and we provide the fuel system. highly unlikely they'll make a kit for the f-bodies as the system will be 8k+ due to the expensive intercoolers.
