whos running a boosted 408?
just wondering who's running a Boosted 408, I know they are out there, since I'm building mine, I'd like to see the different setups and get a general Idea, I'm leaning towards running the S400SX-75, 83mm with 1.10 A/R.... not looking to make the most power on the boards, just trying to keep it pretty tame for longevity and possibly go bigger later on down the road once I open up some room and get some other stuff out of the way.

Boosted 408 on a T76. While it has instant spool, its a dog in the top end due to backpressue. I inherited this build, so as soon as I get the money I'll be going with a GT-91.

only thing I can find for the specs on the s400sx-75 on the one I'm looking at has a 83mm Turbine wheel with a 1.10 A/R Ratio....I'm still learning about how read Turbos and such, just kinda teaching my self and reading threads on here when I can.

they have a wide range of turbine wheel sizes to choose from, ranging from 83mm to 96mm on the turbine wheel sizes....in another thread he had mentioned this turbo for it's faster spool time, and made the same power and a little less PSi..

OT woul it be a better choice to build a 370 instead of a 408? I'm at the point now where all I need before the shortblock is done is the crank, will do a 370 of it would be better for boost in the longevity department.

4.0 Liter Whipple on a 408 with ETP 245 heads, -.28cc dished pistons, Eagle Crank, built by TSP. Running E85 on 221 lb ID/Bosch Injectors. Makes 23 lbs of boost, 1000 ft lbs of Torque at 2500 RPM

A T4 with an 83mm turbine will choke up that big cube motor very early in the power band and you'll be very disappointed. I'd at least go with a T6 80mm with the 1.32 housing. It will make much more power and spool quickly. It seems like a big turbo, but it's nothing a 6.6L can't light off. Best of luck.

Thanks for the actuall input guys, always nice when members are helpful rather than dicks with smart *** comments that don't help, but it looks like I'll go with the 96mm turbine on the T6 flange once the shortblock is complete, hopefully it will be in the shop for wiring in December, and hopefully make it out to the next TX2k event, but that's a long shot in the dark right now.(unless I win the lotto or something)
