4.0L WHIPPLE- <-Official thread.
Where are the 4.0L whipple owners? Anyone care to share their data? Track times? Dynos?
I am considering using one for an LSx/4l80 swapped '49 5 window Chevy. Daily driver to boot.

WRP is probably the most knowledgeable on this one. He has a 4.0L Whipple on a 408....MONSTER combo at that! Check out his build thread and that might give you a little insight. On another note, any more progress on the T/A?

WRP's car is a monster for sure. Does anyone have info on front feed 4.0L whipples? I've searched my *** off.
Only place I've seen in mentioned on the internets is Camaro 5 and a few early pics of the COPO camaros. Did the 4.0 blower on the COPO actually get the front feed or does it have that retarded (no offense to anyone that owns one) elbow that restricts the crap out of it?

From what I have read the 4.0 whipple on the Copo is a rear mount, and the 2.9 is a front mount.
I've also heard whipple will be coming out with a 4.5 with a front mount designed for the new camaros but depending on what front drive accesories you use it would work just fine.

Rumor has it they are coming out with a 4.0 front inlet designed for 03-07 trucks.
How true that is I do not know.
You might be better off just contacting whipple directly but there customer service isn't the best.
Whatever happens, be sure to post up and let us know. I would be interested in the outcome.

Phone confirmed- they are developing a front feed for the trucks and said it's going to be a few months yet.
Also mentioned a 4.4 front feed for 5 Gen camaros but it's only available to the gear heads at GM right now.
They had me email one of their people about what I would need for my '49 so I'll keep you all posted.

We are going to be dyno testing the 2.9L on an RHS based 427 soon Bill. We will use it or the Magnuson on our 1000HP package. I wanted to get the 4.0L, well maybe next time. I didn't have much luck looking for info on the web either.
