Comp vs Precision
So...sticking to a $1500 price range, I've narrowed down to the following. What do you think?
Twins
-------------------
$650/ea
Precision 6076
59mm compressor
65mm turbine
T4 Vband .58/.68./81/.96 a/r
$575/ea
Comp CT3-6065
60mm compressor
65mm turbine
T3 .36/.48/.63/.82 A/R with 4 bolt discharge
T4 Tangential .58/.68/.81 A/R with 3" V-Band
$800/ea
Comp CT3-6262 Billet
62mm billet compressor
62mm turbine
T3 .36/.48/.63/.82 A/R with 4 bolt discharge
T3 .63/.82 A/R with 3" V-Band discharge
T4 Tangential .58 A/R with 3" V-Band discharge
Single
------------------
$1575
Comp 7879 (ceramic BB)
78mm billet compressor
79mm turbine
.58/.68/.70/.81/.84/.96/1.15/1.32
$1450
Precision 7675
76mm billet compressor
75mm turbine
T4 Tangential .81/.96 A/R with 3 5/8" V-Band discharge
Oh and this is just a weekend toy, probably 2K miles a year. So I probably don't need the best of the best. Just something reliable for a reasonable price. Thanks
Single out of those 2 I would pick the PTE7675 and hope you get a good one
From comp you can get a custom turbo I would get a TBB billet 7888 with a 1.32 housing in the with a CT43 compressor cover. This is a CT5 turbo with the smaller compressor, and the 74+mm wheels HAVE TO HAVE more than the 79 turbine or they dont work for **** on a 350+ci motor

The 83mm turbine you can get a in a T4 house. This is the exact same turbo I just ordered. The 96mm Turbine has to be a T6

Regarding the post above there is no way I would run bigger than the 72mm standard BW compressor wheel with the 83mm turbine, none the less the billet 82mm wheel. The billet wheel needs a minimun of the 92mm turbine and ideally the 96mm turbine in a v8 application, or backpressure will be through the roof

I see guys that don't sell comp turbos bashing them & get tired of it. I had a TC 76 before & you want to talk about back pressure OMG but no one was bashing them.
these little small frame turbos will only do so much, need bigger, go bigger.
I had a catastrophic failure of my own doing & they still fixed it at no cost. Then after it was done I changed my mind & wanted twins. They hooked me up even trade, I couldn't believe it.
