I went with a 4l80e in my personal notch build. Overdrive is nice for highway cruising.

A glide is perfectly tolerable on the street IMO. If I had the space in my car I'd have done an 80e but otherwise all of the other choices are 1:1 final drive anyway, so it's not like a 400 or glide are any better or worse as far as street driving. Plus I imagine this will be light... all in favor of a glide... just make sure you have enough gear. The 3.73s are too short IMO.

I have a set of 327 gears now, do you think they will be alright or you think a 308 or 273 would be better?

I wouldn't mind having a 4l80e but that's a little out of my budget right now

Yeah I cant wait to see it finished either, it wouldn't look half as good as it does if it wasn't for my good friend "hybridstang" he's a great fabricator. If anybody needs any fab work done feel free to hit him up.

Hybridstang got all my cold side piping and inter cooler done today and everything looked great and when we loaded it on the trailer I forgot to pull the e brake and it rolled off and smashed the intercooler piping up on the driver side so that sucked but it is what it is.

Oh man that sucks. I had my 66 F250 knock it self out of park, idle up the driveway, down the driveway, across the street, plow through a small ditch in the neighbors yard, turn 90 degrees and start heading for a serious ravine before I managed to jump in and slam on the brakes. **** happens some times, but at least it does not sound too bad.

Things got slowed way down by a $2000 septic repair, but I just ordered turbo blanket little steel and my electric fans in the past week. Should be back at it here soon.
