Default 6 Speed Guy's with 500 plus RWHP....

What are you launching @?

What clutches do you use?

What tires are you running?

Are there any modifications to your tranny?

I think I might have toasted my tranny.... again I'm trying to get a feel for what you are using to handle / manage the power on launch. Any info would be appreciated.

I run a McLeod steel street twin

ET Streets 26"

My tranny is blueprinted with kevlar synchros and Stainless shift forks

My tranny has run flawlessly for 4 years with probabaly 150 5000 rpm hard launches at the track. If done right they can last a long time.

I also run a 12 bolt, chrome moly driveshaft and the torque arm is is mounted to the cross member. When things are moved off the tranny and the parts are stronger I think that will also add life.

Thanks guy's... My tranny is stock, I have a strange 12 bolt and a Lingenfelter Drive Shaft. My master cylinder is also stock but I did the drill mod to it and that seemed to help a lot. Street wise I have never had a problem but at the track I drop it @ 6,000 +.... with slicks (I didn't start doing that until late last year and just now)...... guess I need some tranny mods... and a new MC... Is there someone that has tranny's already built for strip use that I could swap my core with & $$????

We just got a friends car off the rollers, he has a 64 Nova, 422 inches (4.1 x 4), running a D2R blower through a T56. Put down 1015 RWHP and 888 RWTQ, clutch was a mcleod street twin. Awesome street manners with that clutch, I was running one too when I had a stick.

I ran a spec stage 3 ceramic disk with a stock flywheel, presure plate, master, and slave. I was launching at about 4 to 4500 rpms on a 150 shot. I was using 26/10.5/16 ETstreets. I had a stock tranny with a pro 5.0 shifter and a lou's short stick.

Best time was 10.50 @131

550rwhp and 575 rwtq

Yes I do. I pulled it out do to the fact i screwed up on drive shaft size last year. it was short so it was loose on the tail shaft and ait it up a little.
They took it apart to inspect it and replace the shaft and the rest of the tranny was mint. if i didnt screw up the size, im sure it wouldnt have come out.
