Just the a/r is the difference, no power difference between the two. You would want to choose the a/r based on your application, they are both rated to the same power. Smaller a/r will spool a bit quicker as it allows the exhaust gasses to hit the turbine wheel quicker. This will also tighten your powerband up compared to the larger a/r. The larger a/r will take a bit longer for the exhaust gasses to hit it, which therefore will move your powerband up higher in the RPM range a bit. Therefore, the a/r is just there to cater to your needs out of the turbo based on your set-up

Am I right in thinking that the 1.15 compared to the .86 housing will have the potential to be more efficient at higher boost?

No and this is a common misconception.

Just as John said, the tighter the AR housing the sooner maximum drive pressure is reached which will increase power under the curve and torque and decrease spool time.

The looser the AR housing the later maximum drive pressure is reached which will decrease power under the curve and torque and increase spool time.

It is a common misconception also that a looser AR housing will drop back pressure. While it may drop backpressure under the curve, it will not change the maximum amount of back pressure present in the exhaust, only where in the RPM band that point is reached.

Sizing the TURBINE wheel properly is what increases or decreases the maximum amount of back pressure present in the exhaust. AR is just a tool to achieve the power curve and spool time needed for the combination at hand.

Allow me to rephrase then. Lol. What AR is better for a 5.3 with an LS6 cam and intake.

Anyone have any dyno numbers on these yet? Comparing the old TC's or the PT7675?

Mine is almost ready to throw on the dyno. Fighting a knock issue right now and trying to rule out if it is false. Probably will have it on a dyno next week. When it doesn't show knock on the scanner, and I am getting full timing on 16-17 lbs., it runs hard.

For comparison sake, with the on3 turbo on 14 lbs. my car made 606/570 unlocked.

I went with the 1.15 on my 7675 for my 5.3 . I guess I'll see how it works.

I actually just got a call from Turbonetics on these. They were short on the 75mm wheels as well as the 1.15 housings. Good news is he told me all should be done here very shortly! So all that have a turbo on order, it should be fulfilled here and shipped to you shortly. For best status on an order, email is the best way to contact and I will get back with you ASAP!

Also, we have an abundance of extras on order for stock, so anyone else needing one of these, be sure to contact me as you won't be able to get them anywhere else without a massive backorder!

Hey Jon

At what point (displacement wise) would these units start to become a restriction on a street car?

Depending on the rest of the set-up, I would like to see them on 6.0-6.2l's or less. I wouldn't hesitate running one with a 383 in a street car application either. Beyond that CI wise you would really want to look into a larger turbine wheel, but it also depends on quite a bit more that purely displacement and on your particular set-up. If anyone ever needs a turbo recommendation, feel free to shoot me a PM and I would always be happy to help out!
