No belt slip as far as I can tell. I'd go with a small pulley from the start because you're still not going to get a huge amount of boost. Start with a 2.75" and see where that puts you. If you want more, find a smaller pulley or have one made.
I see about 7 to 7.5lbs with a ported TB, LS6 intake, ported 241 heads, 222/230 cam, 1-3/4 headers, and dual 3" exhaust. The blower is pretty much maxed out.
The small silver canister thing you're talking about is probably a Vortech Maxflow Race Bypass valve. All of the Vortech kits come standard with the black plastic bypass valve previously mentioned and pictured above with the rubber hose attached that goes back into the blower inlet pipe.

Vortech calimed with the 3.125" pulley on a stock motor it would make 8psi. After I installed a set of BBK longtubes and a ORY it only made 3psi on my car with the 3.7" pulley. But you have to understand boost is irrelevant and is only a measurement of restriction. If you went SD and ran a filter straight off the head unit it would produce a nice gain. With a set of LT's and the 3.125" pulley the car should have no problem making 440-460 rwhp. Goodluck and let me know if you need any help!

So we got the car all finished up and got it dynotuned this past Saturday morning here in Sacramento and she made 420rwhp/390rwtq on the 1st pull at 6200 rpms and still pulling! It also made 9.7 lbs. of boost on the 3.125 pulley which was more than what we were expecting and the 38# injectors are at 102% duty cyle. Unfortunately, we could only make one pull on the dyno as we had a couple of minor leaks that are now fixed. The car runs great and has more in it for sure with more time on the dyno.

Thanks guys! I honestly have no idea what the intake air temps were but it was probably a 65 degree day whichis average for this time of year here. Car is completely bone stock and definitely has the sleeper affect to it. Only mods are a monster stage 3 clutch w/ tick adstable master cylinder, polyurethane motor and tranny mounts, racetronix 255 fuel pump w/ hotwire kit and a K & N filter. Next mods will be longtubes, LS6 intake manifold, ported throttle body w/bypass, and possibly a meth kit. Of course, a retune will follow
