Question What to do now?

I just bought a '04 C5 and had a Procharger P-sc1 installed. Thought I was going to be happy, but it doesn't have the power I expected, it's fast, but not what I thought it would be The car has only 1000miles on it and besides the blower it is Stock except a B&M ripper shifter. This is my first car with a Blower, so I'm not sure where to go from here? I think the next step is a Full exhaust, headers and all, but I don't want it to be too loud, I do alot of long distance driving and I would like to keep the highway noise level to a minimum. What else can I do to wake this thing up a little without opening up the motor? also, will the headers and exhaust make much of a difference down low? The car pulls hard on top but below 3500 it has nothing? Thanks

Sounds like you are in need of a smaller pully :-D

How much PSI are you seeing now?

...and so it begins... "Just 25 more HP and I'll be happy." Start looking for a good 12-step program for the power addicted.

J/K But seriuosly, getting "there" is more rewarding than being "there." It is amazing how quickly you get used to the feel of added power.

Some snort it, some smoke it, some drink it, I prefer to drive it.

It's an addiction as powerful as any other!

I would upgrade the blower to a D1 and run 8 psi..That would put you at 550+hp on the stock motor with a safe tune from a good tuner.

I think you can push the P1 to a resonable degree. there's really no reason to go from a P1 to a D1 unless it's the initial purchase and only gonna cost ya $130. Other wise go F1 or bigger if you want to upgrade. But I don't think you need to do all that yet. You have a young car and there are many bolt-ons that will help. Long Tube Headers would be an excellent choose to help that beast breathe better. With a stock exhuast I don't think it will be too loud, but it will be louder. If you are up for it dual electric cutouts might add a nice demension to the car. When open it sounds hella nasty. Close them up for a more refined driving experience Heads and cam are gonna generate big power, and reduce MAP Pressure so you're flowing more CFM with less boost(ie faster and safer)

Tuning can alos make a huge difference. Have you had your car on a dyno yet? What numbers did it put down? If it's not dyno tuned, find a reputable tuner IMMEDIATELY! Not only will he find your lost power he'll save your motor from an agonizingly short death. But if you want to get serious you need to get some forged internals to run more boost. I know huggerorangeSS is pushing oiver 600 to the rears with a P1. That's enough to rip a smile on anyone's face

Let's us know what direction you're looking to go and what resourses(ie cash) you have to play with.

Let the mod addiction begin, I suggest getting some LT headers w/a decent catback setup.....you can run cats or an off road setup.........get a smaller blower pulley and you will be over 500rwhp on that setup w/the motor untouched thats with a GOOD tune

This is an easy one. Get a set of the LG pro long tubes. They really help with TQ down low and will give you exactly what you need. Most of the catbacks are pretty loud, so you might want to buy a used z06 catback. There are always guys selling them over on www.corvetteforum.com.

You will also want to convert to the modified front mount setup that is far better than the stock ati setup. Checkout www.aacorvette.com.

You might also have a bad tune. Was is tuned on the dyno. I've seen guys with the stock ATI tune run under 300RWHP.

Also, the 04 c5s have a totally screwed up fuel system with absolutly no return of any sort. You are most likely going lean. Get that checked right away. Again a&a corvette has some type of conversion for the newer fuel systems.

I'm bringing the car to East Side Perf. on friday morning, they are going to dyno it tune it and we'll decide where to go from there. Money isn't the problem, I just don't want to get into the internals, I only plan on owning the car for a year or two (i want the new Z-06 when it comes out). I'll post the dyno numbers on fri after I get them. What do you think it will pull on the dyno? Like I said it is completely stock except for the blower running 7psi?
