Default stock 5.3 goes 8.89 @ 157

8's dont seem like much now that everyone is doin it with the JY setups but I fig id still post this up. It was my feeble attempt at the record. . . . I failed

Always next year I guess

It's still running perfectly and took everything I threw at it. Put a bunch of street miles on it and went to every NMCA event around my area. I whomped on it evey chance I could find and it never complained. I didnt have much of any experience with tuning so Im pretty impressed/suprised I didnt end up driving over the crank. These engines are tough.

It sounds like a tractor cause I ran with open downpipes on this pass. Hate the way it sounds

Ill try and answer the Q's in order

Weight on this pass is 3230 lbs raceweight. I wish it was 2600, Its a heavy sob now. 7 or 8 years ago when I 1st put a mild sbc in it it weighed 2640 without driver, Id like to be there again

That 1/8th mi time wasnt the best in the vid, it was 5.749. best 1/8th has been 5.61

Yeah, I live in fort wayne.

Denmah, its def drama free, Anybody could jump in and make the same pass. Nothing too it. heres another vid from the front windshield, straight as an arrow

Combo is a iron 5.3, 799 heads, twin s366 turbos. Im hoping to get some tenths knocked off next year, Im looking for a 6.0 to get some more grunt or aluminum 5.3 to shed some weight

I was wondering about the twins you have- are you using the standard off the shelf s366 with a 74mm exh wheel and a .91 a/r? Are they really laggy? I am contemplating on using them instead of a billet 82mm s400, on a forged 402 in my tbss.

Whats the compression ratio with the iron block 5.3 and 799 heads? Do you drive the truck on the street? How earily does the boost come on?
Nice build.

Very very nice, suspension separation looks perfect, hits the tire, separates, doesn't plant it too violently. Your rebound on your shocks is dialed in perfectly my friend!

I use the .88 ar oper t4 housings, They are a little laggy but its only a 5.3. They would be fine on a bigger engine. It doesnt do too bad, the converter is loose enough to build 12lbs within 4 secs on the brake. On the street it has just enough lag for a passenger to think "this isnt fast" then bam, boost hits like a 500 shot of nitrous

pump e85 no meth, Itll run high high 8s or 9.0s on 18 psi on a good track in good air. I usualy run 20 psi. The 1st vid up top was on 24 psi but I didnt have the tune in order or it blew out spark cause it stumbled midway in the run.

I never took the time to acually measure the comp ratio so I dont know, but its around 9:1. Drive it all the time, took it out for a cruise a week ago. boost comes in hard around 4500rpm

Still have work to do, I tried putting the travel limiters on it once this year and it spun, but everyone said the track was junk when that happened and I didnt try again. Id like to get the 60 back in the 1.2s. But thanks for the compliment

Stock shortblock meaning stock everything, rings, bolts, bearings all of it. The motor was mostly apart when i got it(it was a GM warantee engine from a local dealer) but I disassembled everything and cleaned everything then reassembled it, nothing was machined or replaced with new, excluding a lifter(as it had one that was bad). I caught hell from a few members for doing that but Id bet most people would have done the same.
