Default Guys I need some help

I dont know where to put this but I figured this would be the best place to ask. ( 88mm turbo build)
The car im build now is a 98 roller,
I sold the original harness and ecm out of the car and I bought a 01 ecm/harness,
I had all intentions of firing the car today, got everything hooked up and turned the key to the accessories position to check all gauges before fire up and noticed the oil pressure gauge is maxed 80psi, no voltage reading and the gas gauge is saying 1/2 tank (tank is bone dry still)

so I went over to the passenger side where the harness comes into the car from ecm and noticed none of the wires match color coated to the interior harness,
do I need to repin all this to match the ecm harness or am i missing something else?
I have checked over and over all the grounds and connections,
now there is one connection that is on the car side of the harness that i have no corresponding connector to plug in.
please help guys

so your running a 98 v8 f-body w a 99+ harness? from what i know people are re pining the 98 harness for the 99+ ecm. The fuel gauge wont work. The 98 is more like the 97 and older LT cars gauges and fuel level sender.

Did you try to crank it? None of the wires are going to match, it's a different harness. I just repinned my 98 harness (pain in the dick) and they definitely don't match. I'm hopefully getting my 2002 truck ecu reflashed to have the 2002 fbody os on there this week and I'll let you know what gauges I have working. I'm sure the fuel gauge won't work, but I don't see any reason why the oil psi gauge won't work.

REPINED the harness thats coming through the fire wall yesterday and got all the gauges to work on the 98 cluster with the 02 harness except for the gas gauge, I bought a 99 up sending unit to put in the 98 tank hoping this will work?
if anybody has dealt with this please give some input,
I have tried everything as in moving/grounding the 98 sending unit

You're going to have to re-pin or go standalone, with a new harness (I recommend Racewire)

What if you replaced the interior harness and cluster from a 99 and up car?

basically just taking all wiring out of the 98 and using all wiring from a 99 and up car?

LOL easier said then done. I dont have a donor car and that means pulling all the interior back out..
my opinion a wire is a wire, I just need to know where to put it or hope the new sending unit works at this point.
with all of these modded cars a can not believe no one had this problem before

I'd Google wiring and the pin-outs, and start reading.

So how do you currently have the wire and which sending unit is in there?
