Sorry for digging up a 6 month old thread....Just curious if anyone has ran the On3 or VSRacing 88/83 turbo? I believe it is the same platforms at the 7665 and 7875, just bored for the 8883 wheels. Wondering if the smaller housings with bigger wheels would make more power than the GT45 framed turbo with the 80mm compressor....

I believe there will be some results soon on tbe On3 88. One of the moderators said he'd have some results soon from another thread.

Okay that is good to hear. They are not cheap turbos but if I build all my plumbing for my on3 7665, I can make 2 upgrades down the road....the 7875 and then the 8883. But if I choose to do the GT45 then all my plumbing will need to me modified which I do not plan on doing. If the 8883 can hang (800+whp) on <20psi on a forged LS1 then I will continue with my plan. Otherwise I am going to start with the VSRacing/CXRacing 80mm BB GT45 platform so I only do plumbing 1 time.

You can buy the 88/83 from VS Racing for $550.

I didnt know VSRacing offered the 88/83...sweet. The VSRacing GT45 series seems to be the most proven and reliable. I am probably going with the GT45 80mm BB. Unless Denmah gets off his A** and makes some numbers and times on the 88/83 for us all to see

I made 658 rwhp on the 88/80 from VS Racing on 14 psi with a small cam through a turbo 400.

I saw that in the other thread...on a 5.3 right? How does that turbo spool on your setup?

Yes an L33. See boost by 3000 rpm and full boost by 4000. Have no complaints at all.
