magnum xt80 or s475/83 both in T4... which will flow more?
I beleive the magnum has a 77mm turbine wheel with a 1.22 ar and the borg warner has 83mm turbine with a 1.10 ar but 5mm smaller compressor. Between those two in a t4 application 4.8-5.3 motor which will flow more?

Hopefully some of the big guys can come in. Im looking at this turbo also for my 5.3 and looking for at least 850 and max 25psi threw a locked 4l80e. I think it should on a while built 4.8/5.3 setup

Im running a s475/83 right now and it's pretty strong. It's good for bottom 10's at my weight. The turbine is the restriction with the 75/83 I wouldn't add any more compressor without upping turbine. A S475/92 would make more power than a S480/83. Etc. S475/83 should be enough to get 750-800 hp on 5.3L.

For 850 hp I would go S475/96 cheaper yet and the 75mm wheel is light. S480/96 is overkill for 850hp unless big CI imo.

Haven't got a good dyno yet on my S480 only try was at 6500' elv and had a plug wire off A true 850~900RWHP is a lot to manage with 2wd on street. The S475/96 will prob go over 900 if pushed but will be breathing hard and hot; the 80mm will be in it's happy zone there.

So what i got out of all this is basically between the two i listed the 475/83 will make more power on a 5.3 than the 80/77.
1.lighter wheel
2.more turbine
And later on the 475 can easily be upgraded.
What do you guys think about down pipe size, will it make anymore power going full 5" or better of reducing down to a 4". It will be open downpipe car.
