Default Making the switch from D1SC to F1R

The D1SC was a good little blower but reach it's limit. So i found this F1R used on here for a fair price. Pulled the engine out to give it new set of rings and bearing and inspected the heads. Hoping to break into the 8s. Race weight will be a round 3800 lbs with driver.

370 lq9
LS9 head gaskets
ARP studs
9.3cr
EPP-Brute speed blower cam
TEA Trickflow 235
Aster bracket
7.65 & 4.25 8 rib pulleys
80# injectors
Lonnies Double Pumper Kit & Complete Custom Fuel System
93 octane and Alky control twin nozzle
Kooks 1 7/8 headers with custom built single 4"exhaust
4L80E with Circle D Pro Performance Stage III Billet Multi Disk Torque Converter
Converter Diameter - 245mm - 9 3/4" 3200-3400 RPM 2C

F1R

Engine is in

Looks like i need to do some trimming to get the air filter to fit.

This is a cobra head i found 4" inlet and outlet, should help fit in this tight area.

I would be carefull with that inlet. I know a couple guys had issues with even hard rubber inlets sucking shut and some even hit the impeller. Nice change man! I loved your combo with the D1 and this will be so much nastier! Whats your target/hoped for boost and what are you doing for fuel?

What injectors? The rest of the fuel system is pretty stout though. I plan on making a hard piping inlet for my blower to avoid any issues with them sucking shut. I remember reading quite a few threads on that and some guys blowers were destroyed. This real similar to the combo I was going to run before I decided to change it up completely so I'm excited to see how yours does!

I am using 80# Siemens Fuel Injectors.
I work at a muffler shop so i can make it out of steel mandrel tubing. Again thanks for the info i don't want to destroy the blower.

You need to see if you can get an 8" balancer on it, and then get a 4.00" blower pulley... That should get you in the ball park...

I would use aluminum for the inlet as it clamps much better to the head unit than steel does. Bob

Yes there have been a few guys that have used this bracket with the F1r. They have made right around 1000rwhp, i'm sure this is getting close to the limit of the bracket. I for one am going to find that limit.

Nice! I'm going to run a cog setup with my new combo...no worries on slipping there lol. Theres also a blue "race belt" that I believe Gates has, it supposedly wears a little faster but also holds better until it does. I'm looking forward to seeing how she does man!

10 rib Gates green HD belt here and a DP direct drive . I have no detectable belt slip...HPT logging MAP and boost, always consistant.... Around 23 psi at 6800... Still on the first belt we put on it from the beginning of the build. 2k miles, 12 dyno pulls and quite a few 4th gear hwy pulls and the belt looks perfect..

Key is good alignment, good tensioners and as many ribs as you can get on it....

10rib is a little bit more then a 8 rib. I was going to try and work with Chris (Aster) and set up a 10rib setup for his bracket. I decided it would be easier and smarter to make the move to a cog for when I up it to a bigger blower anyway. I agree that with a good belt and proper allignment, you can get quite a ways on a 8-10-12 rib setup. I wonder if anyone has run the blue "race" belt on here? It was a PITA trying to find a dealer with one.

I was wondering if Chris was going to have option for the 10 rib. I might have to give him a call. I have not heard anything on the blue belt do you have a link on that.

Build a real inlet-your going to leave a tonne of power on the table if you use that cobra hat.
