I built my harness and it does not get hot I drove it in traffic on woodward for 3 hours today . id say you have a bad box or your harness has a short or is wired wrong. so far I love mine.

most of peoples connectivity issues are because of a USB to com port adapter that is flaky.

Do you still need to modify the Ecu to run microsquirt on the 8 coils..you had a picture with jumper wires..

I'm interested in buying the EFI Source modified Micro to run spark-only on a carbureted LS1. Does anyone know if this will work alright? I'll only be using the factory crank and cam sensors, as well as a basic MAP sensor... Factory-style LS coils. No TPS, IAT, injectors, etc.

We were running the MSD 6010 box with factory coils, but it's a piece of ****. It can't seem to keep up with the power this engine makes on nitrous.

That would kind of suck. I actually think there's kits out there to set up TPS on a carburetor, so who knows.

I don't need anything advanced. Just a basic timing curve based off of RPM, nitrous retard, and a 2-step...Both of which I'd like to activate via WOT/push-button switches.

unfortunately the squirt needs a reference signal to go by and ect.

I guess it isn't the end of the world. Holley offers a bolt-on TPS kit for $115...I could use that to activate the nitrous as well and ditch the WOT switch.

I.E. it doesn't let you control dwell....LOL
Been there...

You don't need the tps, or the iat, hooked up for the Microsquirt to control timing, they are used mainly in the fueling calculations, the iat can be used in some of the timing calcs, but you could zero those out in the tables easily.

BUT...

An IAT is pretty easy to hook up, so you may want to use it. And even if you only use the IAT sensor to measure the ambient air temps, changes in timing could help with some extreme hot/cold starting conditions.(street car only problem)

If you go to the extra work to hook up the tps, even just to report WOT(tps hooked to a WOT switch, like some BMWs are from the factory), you could use the squirt to control some of the nitrous stuff.

But for just timing control, and none of the "extras" you don't need tps or iat hooked up.

And just a note, you don't need the cam sensor hooked up either, not with a Microsquirt setup.

you could also use the FIDLE output wire to trigger the nitrous system for you under certain conditions.

i would just inject it at that point then also haha

Boost Solenoid w/ Micro has anybody done it - if so how????

I was looking at this one from DYI and was hoping it only needs a output from the microsquirt.

you can run it off fidle not sure if you still need to wire it this way http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/...ware.htm#boost or if its different with the 3.5.7 micro

you would have to call EFI source, i think it needs the pwm break out board,

the ms3 can directly drive the solenoid
