I know it's a bit too late, but if your ******* with your fuel tank a whole bunch, I've found it is much easier to just lift the box off than to drop the tank. I do this every time I need to change the fuel pump in one of those trucks.

haha thanks! it wasnt terrible since i cut the exhaust out after the 1st removal, you can sit under the truck on the other side of the tank now indian style and disconnect everything, crazy how much room there is

Whats considered expensive? For $10 more per set, the ls9s are the way to go. I paid $80 for a set.

oh well least i have crazy wiring to the tank, brand new fuel filter, the old one was clogged up bad, and i ordered some 70 amp relays...

after doing some reading up these things draw like 16-18 amps at 5bar, 13.5v... crazy!

anyway we drained the tank, wich took forever because the fuel filter was pretty clogged, we took around 25g out of the tank, took about an hour.

once we got the tank out i used a nice Y fitting and modded the basket to hold these big boy 400s.

so, its ready go go when more stuff rolls in, we wanted to start to get the top end of the motor torn down today... that reminds me, i gotta order head gaskets...
I noticed a difference on my old truck going from brass y fitting to a 3way manifold(one port plugged off, 2x255 walbros), helped from fuel pressure drop. Manifold is more of a smoother transistion. Just some food for thought!

first i thought the wires were too small, rand all new wires and larger connectors, moved grounds, replaced the fuel filter, etc etc, now its still just the relay getting hot lol

wasted all day ******* with it, but oh well.

next time your are at a pull a part yard- grap a fan relay from a late 90's crown vic- its 70amp with the 3/8th spades- pretty beefy and cheap.

all the mustang guys use them on their elec fan rewires.

Im in canada so i might be getting fucked here, but 96$ EACH for a ls9 gasket my cost, regular 135$ list, and 65$ EACH my price for a lq4 gasket. Im gonna put the lq4 gaskets on my junk but was looking for a cheaper route.

I never understand why people cheap out and not run the ls9 gaskets.
