Default 99 turbo build

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to start building my motor and wanted some opinions on my build. I want to do a turbo 383. Im shooting for between 8-900hp. Car has a turbo 400 and moser 12 bolt. Here's what i'm thinking so far.

rotating kit (eagle?)
lq9 heads
custom cam
what kind of turbo and how big would you guys reccomend?
possible nitrous as well?
What else would i need?

And would about 13-15k cover the the build?

either callies or eagle for your kit but callies seems what the ls world likes and for a stock head 317s and a good port job and a arce valve job,and your turbo on a budget no dout the s480 i used chris at CRT, and go with a meth kit, what gear are you planning on using and will this be a street or track or both?

The car is going to be mainly on the track but i do take it out from time to time and i take it to car shows. Right now it has 4.10's. Is 8-900 hp a reasonable expectation? I am really shooting for mid to high 9's. I have a local shop that will do the machine work. Will 13-15k in motor cover this build? What brand for the s480 would you reccomend? Youre saying spray meth instead of nitrous? Also, what kind of fueling am i looking at? (injector size. etc)

To start I would use a Callies rotating assemblies, ive been using Eagle stufff for about a year and its good quality stuff but I like the Callies products better

Give Martin at Tick a call for a great cam he will tell you what you need.

As far as turbo goes I think a 88mm turbo will do just fine, but you can go bigger depending on you.

Sounds like you are prepared to spend the cash and do it once. Try Modularturbo.com for a twin turbo kit that is complete to the last detail. Or at least get with them for your turbo/turbos and other parts if a complete kit is not what you have in mind. See my sig. Your goals are easily reachable. Feel free to PM if you have any questions on their kit or whatever. I have used them for more than just the turbo kit.

Ok so heres what im gathering. Go Callies for the assembly, lq9 heads are fine for 8-900hp? Go with a tick cam. anybody else use them have any info on them? Modularturbo for turbo parts and spray meth? And yes i am ready to do this just once. I want to do it right and still be safe. Is it safe to run that kind of power on an ls1? ive heard the aluminum blocks dont hold up. and sorry for the total newb ? but will a turbo car build boost on a trans brake?

Also does anyone know any good tuners around the northern Virginia area. I am not going to even attempt to tune it. I am too much of a newb and I don't wanna **** something up

Frost is down south of you in Richmond. I have never had a car tuned by him but I know lots of guys who swear by him and his tuning ability.

I'd do a 370CI motor based off of the Iron block. Call LME or AES and talk to them about a Short/Long Block. I was quoted a little under 10K for a 370 from LME, that was with TFS 235 heads and good internals. The C.R.T. HPR8811 Turbo for like $1800 is rated at 1550hp, that would be my choice. Do a truck Manifold setup, build it yourself or have someone do it. If you have E85 accessible use that, if not spray methanol. Yes, you can build boost on the Brake. Frost is very good, I'm not sure how far Phil99Vette is from you, or even if he has time, but he might be someone to look into as well.

So the ls1 wont handle the power i want safely? i was trying to avoid a new block but if thats what i need then ill do it. Also, with good internals, what kind of power will the ls1 block hold?

A stock LS1 no, the LS1 block, not for long. A guy on here BAKED, runs a LS1 Block with forged Rods and Pistons to like 1,032rwhp, but he and everyone else knows its not a question of if, but a question of when it will pop. Personally I wouldn't go past like 800rwhp with an LS1 block.
