Default Turbo 5.3 Foxbody. HELP!

So i ditched my h/c/i 351w i was doing for my fox and decided to go with a 5.3. Im going to pick up a 02 5.3 shortblock with heads this weekend. Anything specific i should look for? Heres my parts list i was thinking of:

-5.3 with 706 heads

-tu1 cam with springs

-ls6 manifold (holley hi ram if funds are availabe)

-ARP headstuds

-LS9 headgaskets
I currently have a brand new Turbonetics T76 turbo, should i run it or go with a pt7675? Im hoping to get to the 700rwhp on e85 thru a auto. I need all the help i can get, i dont know much about these ls engines.
Thanks

Check out Denmahs newest thread. A few of his common parts in there. I'd also look up the KMJ head studs.

looks like a good start- I just finished my 4.8/th400 fox swap.

if you have any specific fitment issues I may be able to help.

I just did the pro comp (not sure why every one calls them KMJ) head studs and ls9 gaskets after pushing coolant on the stock long block.

Because they actually have KMJ Head Studs, they may be Pro Comp though.

yea KMJ is just one of many stores that sell them- they will come in a Pro Comp box- Note the Pro Comp part number used by KMJ.

Were off topic already LOlz

I would ditch the t76 and get yourself a good Borg turbo. They are cheap, reliable and make good power. Just my personal opinion. I went with a S480 for my 5.3 Foxbody with the Holley Hi-ram and a 4l80e trans.

What did you do as far as mounts? I was thinking team Z kmember with mounts, or some Dirty Dingo mounts. Im thinking of going with a 4l80e or 4l60e, i want overdrive. I have a c4 and the 3 speed sucks.

I went with the 92mm turbine and 1.10 ar turbine housing. Friend on mine who is a turbo engineer said he would have gone with the 1.32, but I figure it is worth a shot. Still finishing up the turbo kit and hoping to start the car in the next month or so, but I have never been disappointed by the borgs...used 5+ on various set ups. Nothing this large though.

I did the Team Z kit with mounts. If I had it to do over again I would not do Team Z. I like their stuff and Dave's customer service is incredible and I have their full front suspension on my car.

But they missed the mark on the LSx swap K member and mounts.

Dave is supposed to be redesigning the kit for better fitment but not sure when that will be done.

The mounts do not fit well and you cannot use a car pan on the first design.

Id use AJE or find a used UPR or other brand 4.6 K member and use the UPR motor mounts.

AJE being the first choice- Usually in stock at Summit.

Maximum Motorsport also has a Swap K member but its more expensive that the other units although everyone swears their stuff is top notch.

I've read that team z made the kmember around a specific moroso pan. Any experience with Dirty Dingo mounts? How is that tc76 treating you?

What do you guys recommend as far as cam and intake manifold?(leaning towards a hi ram or pro flo)

On the team z, can you still run the stock rack? Or do you have to go with a manual flaming river rack or something? I know you can run stock a arms on the AJE kmember with the option on with or without spring perches. I'm going to give Dirty Dingo a call.

Get the 4L80E. The 60, unless you spend large dough on it will fail. The 80s arent cheap but tough as hell.

I think the DD mounts are made to use with a 4.6 K member and motor mounts.

I talked to them a while back and they wanted someone local to bring by a car they could use for mockup for a pushrod K member motor mount.

Id grab TU1 cam and LS1/6 intake manifold unless your trying to make stupid power.

boost makes everything ok !

My TC78 is doing well for the price- I want a 75mm turbine turbo now just for giggle.

taking it to the track for the first time tomorrow.

doubt it ETswell with 3.08 and a tight converter but hope in runs mid 13X MPH.

I'm thinking of getting rid of my Tnetics and going with a BW S475 or s480. I'm hoping I can crack 700rwhp. Good luck on the E.T! If you don't mind me asking, how much power you pushing?

I'm picking up my 02 5.3 short block this weekend, the guy is throwing in some ls1 241 heads, how would 241 heads do on the 5.3 with boost?
