Well it's still going, lots of little changes through the middle of the build and it pushed us into the 2014 season... I will have Jon post some recent pictures.. It's turning out really nice!

Default Some updates! (Picture Dump!)

Lets start with the rear of the car:
1. removed all the sheet metal we didn't need to store ttops etc:

2. Installed the new parachute bars, and bracing to hold the new sheet metal in the rear to replace everything we took out:

3. Since Steve got us the water tanks and intercooler we were able to go forward with mounting those in the rear:

And finally with the water tanks in!

and for the rear one more with the mock bat in place

Default Some Updates Pt. 2

moving forward towards the inside of the car since me and Tim had almost all of the bars welded up we were able to pound out the trans tunnel pretty quickly with the help of a lot of energy drinks!

Considering that these cars have the weirdest transtunnel stock we were able to make it straighter and better flowing, came out pretty mint!

Moving more forward we had to make room for the beautiful headers Mike over at Motive Motions made: (and a peak at that beautiful AEI Plate!)

time to patch up the firewall:

More to come later!

Default Recap

Hello to everyone following this thread, I want to go back in time a little and update everyone. My name is Jon and I am the owner of an independent automotive repair shop in Schaumburg IL and I am also the owner of the 83 Camaro being built in this thread. The Camaro Real Street build was started a little less then a year ago and we are doing most of everything in house here at the shop. Here is the basic setup .... 383 iron block powered by a F1c Procharger, water to air intercooler(Chiseled), water tanks for intercooler and cooling system, Holley EFI, 25.5 cert chassis, Strange Dana 60, TH400 w/trans brake, Strange brakes all round, Afco coil overs in the rear, and Strange coil overs in the front, madman torque arm, lca's, and panhard.

All the chassis work was done by myself and my employee and friend Tim, with some guidance from our good friends at Legend Racing Ent. The engine is being built by Steve Roden (Stroker TA), and Doug Roden over at Legend Racing and its going to be one badass **** of an iron block LS combo. We were planning on getting out last year to all the shootouts and race real street, but time was not on our side. There was also a lot more work involved then we originally planned, we had to cut out a lot of old stuff and re-do it and adding a 25.5 cert cage in a third gen f-body was a b****!

As of right now we have the entire cage and chassis done, headers are done and look amazing, thanks to Mike at Motive Motions, wheels and suspension are back on, tanks and intercooler are mounted, and most fabrication is done minus the cowl. We are almost ready to drop in the motor and start mocking up the gear drive and F1c.

Now that we are back on track I will be updating as much as I can with plenty of pictures, hope you guys like it, we are definitely getting out in 2014 at the start of the season and will be attending the shootouts! Real Street here we come!

I have a lot more pics that show the process of everything but would take way too long to long to load all. Anybody want to see something specific let me know, sorry the pics are kind of out of order and all over the place!

Seats must be upholstered OEM or aftermarket seats in stock location. Rear seat may be removed when roll bar/roll cage are installed; area must be carpeted or upholstered.

Copied off the website with real street rules.

So I don't think that intercooler location will work?

We never had one in WhiteLTone... The seat does have a cover, he just wasn't trying to get it all nasty..
I gotta hand it to Jon, he has done a helluva job on this car having NEVER done chassis work before.. He's been working his butt off on this thing, and it's really going to be nice when it's all done!

The goal is to have it on the dyno and ready to go to Georgia for the February No Mercy race.

Default Update over the weekend

Over the weekend we got started on the cowl panel fabrication, here are some pics. We are going to try and finish the rest of it up today!

Cut everything out, looks like the Chevy bowtie symbol ironically!
