Yeah for mine, I wanted to make sure I got the torque exactly right so I thread cleaned the block, and then I used ARP assembly lube on every stud I put in. Then of course rechecked the torque on the heads at about 500-1000 miles.

Wouldnt that ATF and or Oil run down the bolt and create that hydraulic bubble or pressure at the end of the bolt that everybody is worried about cracking the block?

I guess its not a problem Denmah, if you're saying you've commonly done this with no problems. I know most recommend to dry the bolt hole or you'll supposedly crack the block. I wouldnt know. I have always clean the threads.

I'm sure the bolt doesn't completely bottom out on the hole, if it does, we might have problems the first time I beat on it. Lol

No, that's why its called hydraulic pressure. It wouldnt have to bottom out. But I guess you may have to have more fluid in the hole to do this. According to rumor it would act like a hydraulic cylinder. The liquid at the end of the bolt hole would build pressure until it cracked the block.

Oh I completely understand what you're saying, and I'm not denying the possibility, I was just saying that I'm sure there's more room than you think down there. How else would they run the tap all the way down? I'm sure there's like 1/4 to 3/8 of open bore down there. That's just my opinion, no clue of its validity.

Yea, I expect that room at the bottom also. Which is why I guess that there must have to be more fluid in the hole to cause this problem.

Either way. I'm not trying to diss this. I love it! I'm a risk taker though. lol Just thought I'd bring up the idea since it looked like a lot of ATF.

It was a gallon jug of it, I just dipped the threads in it, and hammered it in, I'm sure there's 2-3 CC's of room under the bolt, and I'd be shocked if the threads could hold that much.

We use this method to pull the inner sheeves off of can am quads if there is no clutch puller tool handy lol. Water/snow/oil and one wrap of teflon tape. pops it off.
